potty training

Zoe didn't start until she was three. We just kept talking about how we had to go potty, and wow, that ment we got to go IN THE POTTY (insert exclamation points here), and asking her if she needed to go.
Essentially, they won't go until they're ready and there's not a lot you can do about it.

We started with T when he was around 2, and he's at the point now where he'll go everytime he's on the potty, and he's also starting to ask us to go when he knows he has to. I had no clue how to start. I'd sit him on the toilet and tell him toilets are to pee in, but he wouldn't go. Every time he had a bath, the second he got in he'd pee before sitting down, so I put him in the tub, waited til he had that look, then quickly switched him to the potty and cheered when he ended up going in there.

potty training

I started setting Cae on the potty first thing in the morning when he was like seven months old. Then I gradually increased. After nap times, after breakfast... etc. I also taught him a sign for "potty". (Make a sign language t and then move it like your flushing). He's not even 18 months old and he is basically potty trained. I change on average one diaper a day.

Things that keep him on the toilet:
Letting him lean against me and rubbing his back.
Singing to him and giving him toys.
We have a little plaster fish that he holds and we sing songs about fishes.
