I have noticed a smell "down there" the last 2 days... It's very strong, as I can smell it at any time even when I am fully clothed. Can this be related to a UTI or yeast infection? I have had neither and really am not aware of the symptoms or anything. It's not a very bad smell, it's just not pleasant.

Probably an infection
I had the same prob several months ago...I know exactly what you're talking about, LOL. I never went to see my doc. cuz it was kinda embarassing, heheh...and I don't know what it is...but whatever mine was went away. Ocationally it comes back but clears up again. I had never had it happen to me before until several months ago.
How long did it take to go away?
I'm thinking it's a yeast infection because I did some research online and I've had all the symptoms. I did experience burning and itching really bad, but that went away, which is kind of strange. And the smell JUST popped up yesterday. I wouldn't think symptoms would be spread out like that... Anyone with experience with yeast infections??? I was fine until the smell popped up. It's very odd.
Actually most sites didn't mention a smell and even said that the discharge associated with yeast infections is odorless, but one site said that there may be an odor similar to beer or bread, since it is yeast. And I even thought of a bread-like smell before I read that! Sorry, TMI
i guess it lasted about a week....and the times I noticed it the most was when I was sitting, LOL (I dunno why...maybe because it was RIGHT there and my nose was right above, LOL.)
This screams bacterial vaginosis or trich to me. Odor with a yeast infection isn't usually unpleasant.
I looked up info on bacterial vaginosis and trich and I don't think I have either. "Unpleasant" might not be the right word... I guess to me, any obvious smell is not a good one. But it is not a foul odor at all. I'm really thinking yeast infection. I just don't want to have to go to the doctor.
You really do need to go, though. It's fast -- they get a swab and look at it under the microscope. Hyphae = yeast. Clue cells = BV. Weird swimming potatoes = trich. Takes about five minutes.
Okay, I guess if I still have symptoms next week I will make an appointment. Thanks for your help ladies.
I would go to the doctor. It sounds like its something other then a yeast infection so its probably better to go get a test done. I know its kind of embarrasing but its better then having an uncomfortable vagina!
