I took my daughter to the doctors today she has been coughing and runny nose common cold ya know? Then I noticed she wasnt eatting normally so I looked in her mouth and there was white stuff all over and it wouldnt come out!! The doc said its thrush or how ever its spelled?? What is this and do you mommas have any advice for me? My daughter is really cranky cause of this  I need sleep!! Has anyone had this happen to their baby?

Thrush is super super common! It's basically just a yeast overgrowth(like athlete's foot or a yeast infection in adults), and while annoying to get rid of it's not dangerous. Are you nursing? If you are you need to have some sort of treatment for your nipples along with your baby being treated. If you aren't then you just need to treat your daughter. I'm assuming your doc gave you medicine right?
Along with the medicine try to cut back on anything sugary, including any juice or things with a lot of simple carbs (white bread, etc) since the yeast feeds off that sugar.
Generally once you start treatment it should clear up pretty quickly. If it doesn't then call her doc and see what he recommends.
if you bottle feed ***** you need to make sure you are cleaning your nipples and bottles correctly (learned that one LOL, littl danny had a small case of thrush when we got hom from philly because nobody cleaned his bottle right  so just make sure you sanitize(Sp) them
Yup, a harmless yeast infection. If she's uncomfortable, give her some baby motrin. Also, make sure her pacifiers are cleaned well before they are put in her mouth.
You can also try giving her some yogurt with active cultures in it - it will help fight the thrush bacteria.
My son had it when I was nursing him, and he passed it onto me. Not a fun thing to go through! He was a month old and I gave him a little yogurt and he had no problems with it!
Good luck!
Are you nursing? Thrush can also make your nipples itchy :)
The best thing i ever found to get rid of thrush, is Gentian Violet. Ask your pharmacist about it. its pretty cheap but kinda messy.
Its a natural plant extract and a VERY deep purple color. you put it on your nipples before nursing or a little inside the babies mouth (a few drops on your finger) Turns everything purple, but gets rid of thrush in a few days :)
I've never had thrush But my Horse has had it and his foot was just white and yucky it never did anything to him. He was given Medication and it disappeared So I don't know what to tell ya it will go away!
