So we just found out that my son is going to have a G tube placed in his stomach on january 8th. right now he is getting fed through an NG tube, but its becoming a huge pain in the butt as he keeps yanking it out and the skin on his cheeks is worn raw from all the tape we have to use to keep it in place. im glad that the G tube will make our lives much easier and pleasant in the long run, but im still nervous about the operation. i know its super minor but its scary!
he went under anesthesia one other time when he had his MRI and did fine with that but it was so hard to watch him drift off like that. im just going to be glad when this is over.
Oh hugs!!! I have never had to watch my son go under anesthesia but I have seen others and it is scary....can not imagine it being my baby!!
It will hopefully make life a lot easier than the NG tube has been, those can be so hard with younger kids :(

Just wondered how the gtube was going? My daughter has had a gtube and nissen since Feb. 2005 and she will be 3 in July. She was born with a Diaphragmatic Hernia and in the NICU for 9 weeks and we are still struggling.

We start intensive feeding therapy in Mid July. 3 weeks of inpatient work with a behavioral psychologist and intensive feeding. Which means 3 weeks of unpaid leave from work for me and no help from my soon to be ex husband.
