At my last doctors appointment they told me that i was 1 cm dilated and 75% effaced, when i told my mom and dad they both said that if i would have been 2 cm they probably would have kept me and taken me to the hospital, but i was talking to my teacher and she said that that's not always true... so my question is does anyone know who/what is right? LOL. I have my doctors appointment tomorrow and I'm really hoping they will send me over to the hospital because i am getting SUPER uncomfortable and I really really want to have this baby soon. Advice anyone?
Well I was 3cm and 85 % effaced for like 2 weeks before I had my son...on my due date of course so it prob depends on the doctor and when your due date is. But good luck at your next doctor appointment...and try to relax these last couple weeks although i kno its hard!
No, 2 cm doesn't win you an admit, and you wouldn't want it to. (Your chances of an intervention are increased the longer you're in the hospital.) If you're not in labor (i.e., painful, progressing contractions that are changing your cervix) you will not, most likely, be admitted unless you've had a vaginal birth before.
You can walk around at 100% effaced and 4 cm dilated for literally weeks, though it's unusual in a first-time mom.
unfortuanetly 2cm wont get you admited.
I was 36 weeks pregnant with my son and 2 cms dialted. Then at 37 weeks i was 3 cm dialted. I didnt go to the hospital until 39 weeks when my water broke. sometimes you will go the last month or so up to a few cm dialted.
I went a few weeks being 2 cms.
only to be in labor for 63 hrs and never dialate past 5 cms. nice right? lol
Ugh...so what happens if I am like 90% effaced, then will I get to stay? LOL. Grrrr...i just want to not be pregnant anymore.

I was 2 cm and 100% effaced for like 2 weeks, maybe more, cant remember. i didnt go to the hospital until i was in labor, i was 6 cm when i got to the hospital but didnt have my daughter until the next day at 530 at night, and got to the hospital at 2 am. so my labor was long even tho i was 2 cm ahead of time.
Just stay relaxed and enjoy the last few weeks you will miss it. You dont want to have the baby to soon. Cherish every kick cuz you will be looking for them and not feeling them once the baby is born
babyblueeyes89 is right, i remember feeling the same as you near the end, so uncomfortable and just wanting my son OUT! but now i look back and i miss being pregnant sometimes because its an experience like nothing else! good luck with the birth of your baby i hope everything goes smoothly and as planned :D
