Limits on Signatures

I'm wondering if this limit on the length of signatures is new, or what the general deal is here...? I went to change mine, and I was given a message that it was too long. What I wanted to put in was another quote, which would not have been longer than a lot of sigs already on here (that are, like, 8-10 lines long I am guessing).

Anyway, does anyone know what is up with this, and if it only applies to new members or when old members modify what they already have?

Thanks.

There has always been a limit on sigs.

It believe it is like 250 characters or something around there

I don't think it's changed at all ... and I believe there's always been a limit

The limits have always been there. That's why my quote is so butchered.

a good way to do it is to type up what you want for your signature in word, it can do a word count and tell you how many characters you have. Characters include enter breaks, spaces, punctuation as well as letters or numbers. But yeah, the limits always been there at 250 characters.
