So Ian turned 4 on Tuesday! I can't believe it! He is too big. I remember just being pregnant with him. It seems like just yesterday! We bought him a big boy bike and told him it was from his Uncle Kevin. He absolutely loves it and is sooo good on it! I didn't think he'd be able to ride it right away since he's never had a "real" bike, just a trike, but boy oh boy I was wrong! He cruises on that sucker! He has this Cars helmet and just looks soo damn cute in it.
He also is saying things that just absolutely blow my mind. Like the other day he wanted to go ride his bike and I told him just to ride in the culdesac. Our whole neighborhood is young families like us so it's really safe. He looked at me and said "I don't have to ride in the cul-de-sac only anymore MOM! I'm 4 and that means I'm a big boy now duh!" I couldn't believe it. . . I was just like uhhh, dumb founded for the moment. He's always saying stuff like that too. He is totally Mr. Attitude! I can already tell he's going to be a total handful when he's older! Plus he had a total gowth spurt! I had him in 3t like 3 months ago and before that he was in 2t two years in a row. Now he's in 4t for shirts and almost there for pants. They're just a little big around the waist.
We're starting him in Head Start this August. I can't believe it's already time for preschool and next year is time for Kindergarden!!!! He can count to 5 but he's totally stuck on that! I don't have a clue how to get him past that. I havenb't even tried the alphabet yet. I don't really know how to go about it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him to do that? I just can't believe my baby is already 4. Time just stinking flies!

Wait until he hits 5, then you really want to sob, but party at the same time. Anyway, as far as the alphabet, have you tried the song that goes, " The A says Ahh, The A says Ahh, every letter makes a sound , the A says ahh. The B says Buh,...etc..."? Beware though, once you start the damn song gets stuck in your head. Also, this works for shapes/letters/colors.... Put three letters/etc/ down on the floor, say each as you set it down, and then ask him to pick up one of the three you sat down. Like If you laid a D, Z, and X youd say each as you set them down and then ask if he could find the Z.
Also (phew youll get tired of my rambling) if you have access to a printer you can go to aphabet-soup.com and print out tracable templates.
