I don't know if this is the right forum but I just wanted to say I feel so bad for Britney right now. All this media backlash about the VMA performance and people saying she's "fat". Fucking FAT?!? The woman's just had 2 kids in a really short space of time and she looks absolutely amazing.
I think MTV totally exploited her for ratings. It's obvious she wasn't ready to perform yet and it just made me feel really sad to watch her. :(

i totally agree i went on perez hilton.com and posted about him calling her fat she has 2 kids and a flat stomach like wtf that is why women are so fucked up mentally about there body image. she did do a horrible job on the performance but mtv totally exploited her.

The performance was pretty bad for an opening act at an awards show, but I really don't understand why anyone focused on her weight. The dazed look on her face? The fact that she seemed to put no effort into the moves? Sure, make fun of that. But she actually looked damn good!
I love her and really hope that society doesn't break her down anymore. Poor mama.
It seems like its gotten to the point, where whatever this woman does, people criticize her for it. The first thing I heard when I turned on the radio, the day after the awards show, was slams agaisnt her and her preformance.

I never really liked her music, but as a person I feel fucking bad for her. If the tabloids followed every mom around 24/7 I'm sure everyone could be criticized. Even when she does something good she gets slammed. Like I was reading in a magazine that my mom had she took her kids out to dinner, but oh my god it was 10:00 pm! The horrors! Meanwhile, Kevin Federline has a nanny watch his kids, or calls her parents to watch them the whole time he has them while he's out partying all night.
I agree, the media is being way to fucking hard on her! And the weight?? Give me a fucking break! She had 2 kids in less than a year and IMHO she looks fucking AWESOME! Everyone needs to cut this poor mama some slack!
Even if she hadn't had kids they still shouldn't be fucking criticizing her weight or anyone elses. It makes me sick.

I have never liked Britney Spears (music, style, etc), and I really don't keep up on celebrities. I don't even have a tv. But when I saw this post last night, I decided to do some research on her, and I was appalled at how much shit she's getting for doing normal little things. I read article after article after article dating back several months and all I could find in relation to her being a "bad mother" is that she drove with her son in her lap, installed a carseat incorrectly, and tried to get her son's teeth whitened. Maybe she isn't the best mom in the world, but has she done anything at all that could be construed as abuse or neglect? Come on! Just because she's a celebrity she's being made out to be the worst young mom in history, while there are children being beaten and starved out there and nobody cares because their parents are poor. This is why I don't follow celebrity gossip. It's just a bunch of bullshit.
Out of curiosity, I watched the clip on youtube (My Soc professor even brought it up!) and damn, I didn't think she looked fat at all. A fellow student in my women's studies class brought up that, ... it seemed as though Britney didn't care what people thought of her, did her thing, performed and we kind of all thought it was cool of her, yah she's gained weight - but who the fuck cares? She looked completely fine, I thought ... not fat at all.
The media is horrid upon everyone. They're the ones that construw into our minds we we "should" look like and ram down our throats - weight, that we should aim at looking "younger", that "you can look this good and be 40!" is alright ... and "lose weight and still eat!" ... puh-lease.
More reasons why I don't watch TV or read mainstream magazines.
Granted, I think she could've put a lot more effort into the performance, but the constant nagging about her appearance is insane. Why is it okay to judge someone based on their physical appearance? Britney is beautiful, she's not at all "fat," and who CARES if she shaved her head? I shaved my head, and it doesn't mean that I'm crazy. It means that one of my best friends had to have brain surgery and was going to lose her hair.
We don't know what's going on in Britney's personal life, we don't know what's truth or not, and honestly, the last thing this woman needs is the world peering through her window. If the media was truly concerned about her well-being, they would leave her alone instead of adding to this pressure.

I hate listening to the shit on the radio.... I grew up listening to WPLJ and recently I've noticed that they are totally using "teen pregnancy" "young parents" "drug addicts" "deadbeat" and just plain "failure" as SYNONYMS :evil: and any time I bring up how rediculous they sound my mother starts yelling at me. :roll: Naturally as a younger mother, Britney gets all this shit tossed on her on top of being called "fat" and a multitude of other things. I am OUTRAGED that NO ONE says anything or rises against this constant onslaught.
I've seen Britney recently and she looks DAMN GOOD. I am *so* pissed off. How people can't have a little sympathy towards her totally blows me away. I really wish we could do somthing.... :cry:

i heard sooo much about her custody battle. I just wonder what is all true. I heard she has to take drug tests 2 times a week. I just hope for the childrens sake that she isnt doing drugs and if she is get help.

One of the conditions is that they attend a "Parenting without Conflict" class, which I think is awesome. Everyone that goes through the local court system for family matters has to take a Parenting after Separation course. I did it, and learned some interesting stuff.
I really hate how Kevin is trying to use the fact that Britney is bisexual against her in court. WTF does that have to do with her parenting skills?
I read somewhere today that her manager has dropped her and her lawyer has quit too after her former bodyguard made a statement saying that Brit was "innapropriately naked" around the kids. Unless she was having sex like right in front of them, I don't see how you can be innapropriately naked around a 2 year old and a 1 year old.
WHAT?!??!! Is he KIDDING?!?! i'm bisexual, does that mean i'm gonna be a bad mom? hell no. If anyhting, my kids will be more open-minded and accepting becaue they will know that it's OK to deviate from "normal" (whatever the hell "normal" is :lol: )
I suppose they wouldn't approve of children taking showers with their kids either?? Growing up, I took showers with my parents and I've seen my parents naked out of the shower NUMEROUS times. I turned out alright, didn't I? (ok, some might debate that one ocasion, but seriously, I'm FINE)
I cannot STAND the way they're treating her. I totally feel for her. I hate K-Fed for putting her through hell. She doesn't need crap at home on top of the usual media shit... I really hope it all turns out ok for her and her kids.
I think that by your kids growing up being more open-minded and accepting,(whatever the reason) is exactly what we need anyways. Too many people look down on everyone for every little thing. IMO everyone just needs to worry about themselves and let other people live their lives (unless of course they are harming someone else in the process)

I think britney needs to get her shit together if what came out is true. Being naked around your kids is one thing but doing drugs is completely different. Also, driving with your child on your lap is unacceptable. I will give her that the media hounds her and probably only compounds these problems but she needs to get her life together. I don't think her sexuality has anything to do with parenting but it is how the media portrays it, OMG she was having sex with women! OMG! Seriously it is not a big deal. But the things that she does that would have CPS knocking on other people's doors is just plain unacceptable.
I agree that people were harsh about her performance. I think she looked awesome for having two kids, but performing is her job. If she is going continue her career she should be putting her all into it because that is what she gets paid for. I think the performance she put on is unacceptable. If I went into work and did my job half assed I would get in trouble, so why shouldn't she?
I have to agree with you on this. Her appearance was fine but the actual performance was horrible. She was stiff and boring. She used to be awesome on stage dancing. Since shes been "out" for a while she should have coming in with a "bang" to wow people. I was hoping for more.
Yeah... she looked way dazed. She looked drugged to me, and like she just didn't care.
