Well, I went to the Dr today.. my mental health has been declining and my family is suffering becasue of it. Im overwhelmed and frustrated constantly, every little thing sets me off, and Ive started getting anxiety attacks again. She upped my Zoloft, but if this doesnt help, she said I may need to wean so I can switch meds :( It makes we want to cry just thinking about having to wean.. I wanted to let Avalon decide when she was ready, but I also ahve to take care of myself, for the sake of my kids.. this sucks :(

Aww, hopefully the upping of zoloft works. If not, you are making a good decision, you need to take care of yourself to take care of your kiddos.
Aww. . . it sux but as you said you need to take in account your wellbeing. She done good so far mama! And know you quit cuz you had too!
As someone who lives with a mental illness,
your mental health is WAYY more important. I know it may seem upsetting that you have to stop breastfeeding, after all that hard work...but YOU need to be healthy and happy!!!!!!
I hope that the Zoloft works!!!
Thanks for the support mamas! I know that my mental health is the priority here and I should be grateful Ive had 9.5 mo of nursing her.. its just really hard to accept. But I totally realize that if thats what has to happen, its for a good reason. Ive dealt with mental illness for the majority of my life, and I know full well what happens when Im not adequately treated, and I sure as hell dont want it to escalate to that point.
Oh mama I totally know how you feel. I had to wean for medical issues at nine months also but you have to remember that YOU did the best you could for this long!
i hope the meds work for you so you don't have to give up breastfeeding
Im so sorry hun. But if you do have to, at least you know it is for a reason. You have worked so hard on BFing. Just know that you did an excellent job!!!!! Look how much she has grown!!
you have done a great job with breastfeeding this long, and you are right your health is the most important thing right now and it affects your whole family, whereas nursing only helps you and avalon, so i think that it is the right choice to wean if necessary bc the medication could help you and your entire family
Thanks for the support mamas :) It makes me feel better knowing that at least people understand where I'm coming from.
am so soory that u are going through but i hope it gets better
Are there no other medications that you cn take while breastfeeding that you could try? You worked so hard to establish this nursing relationship; you've given her such a gift.
