I'm Janice, 20-year-old mama to 19-month-old Maddie. (I'm geekishly excited for next month when I can say we're both 20. :lol:) I'm a SAHM who is also a full-time university student via correspondence. I'm only in my second semester and I'm thinking of switching schools, but either way I'm really hoping to get at least a 3-year-undergrad to open up more options for me. I'm hoping to move on farther beyond that, but I don't want to set up unrealistic expectations for myself so I'm just going to take things as they come and see where I am and what I want in 3 years. I still have my whole life ahead of me! :D
I just read about this site and had to check it out, and I have to say I love it already! :lol: It's so amazing to find so many like-minded young moms.

Hi! I recently discovered the feminist Association for Research on Mothering at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and discovered that they have a journal. I ordered a back copy called "Young Parents" (which I was so excited to see in existence and it is really amazing and inspiring) and this site was mentioned in an article called "The 'Good Mother' vs. The 'Other' Mother: The Girl-Mom" by Lindsey Rock. It was an amazing article and I was amazed to discover an online community like this one. I really wish I had known about this a long time ago. :)
