If you are interested, can you please post your age when you gave birth, your length of active labour, and your total hours of labour?
Thanks in advance!

My first birth I was 17, in labour between an hour and a half and 2 hours. All of that was active labour. There wasn't anything noticable before that.

My second I was 19, went into started having contractions less than 5 minutes apart at around 8pm and she was born a few minutes before midnight.

15- 13 hours of active

15- 25 hours of labor. 13 hours of active labor. About 45 minutes of pushing.

18- Induced with pitocin, 10 hours of active labor 30 minutes of pushing. I was in labor for about 12 hour when i was 35 wks and it was stopped. I was then induced at 39 weeks.

This is just out of your age range but I was barely 20 so I figured I'd add it

20- 4 days of labor. 10 hours active labor 45 minutes pushing

It makes me sad that I don't even know when I started active labour. :( Good luck with your research! :o)

Alright, thank you so

Alright, thank you so much!
I am going to collect the numbers until Thursday, so if anyone else wants to post theirs as well I would really appreciate it!

Charlie, would it be possible for me to use one of your pictures that you created in my entry?
It will be seen by 10 women (8 midwifery students and 2 instructors.)

I was a student midwife(

I was a student midwife( homebirth) for two years, so if you need any pictures, I have lots.
My first birth- age 17 was 8 hours long, 11 min of pushing, 9lb 1 oz baby-born in hospital with a CNM
Second birth, age 19 was 4 hours long, 45 min of pushing, 13 lb baby- born at home
What a cool study. I can say that it's much easier, physically, most of the time to give birth at 17 than 35 or 40. My preceptor always said she'd rather do a birth for a 19 yr old than a 35 yr old.
