I got Syd a blow up baby pool. I out it directly in the sun so that the water can stay warm enough for her (so her bod. temperature doesn't drop too low). How long is too long for her to be in sunlight? What SPF of sunblock do I need to use? Also, is it safe to put her in water that's been sitting in the pool for a couple of days? Or should I change it everytime I want to put her in there? Cuz today when I went out there, you could see little things floating in the pool on top of the water. Sorry so many questions....I hope this is the right place to post this...if not MODS please move it to an appropriate place :0)

At only 4 months I don't think it's okay to have her in direct sunlight at all, even with sunblock on. I'm not sure about the spf that's needed, but someone else might know (45??). If it's warm enough outside, you should try to put the pool in the shade and limit the time she's out there to 10 minutes or so.
I saw this stuff on TV called 3. I think it's Coppertone but instead of being SPF it reflects, abosorts, and refracts or something. My ex used to use it on himself (he's VERY pale and burns within 5 minutes) even though it's generally for kids.
Eve-
Did it work?
Oh shit. I thought I mentioned that.
Yes, he stayed nice and pale :D.
I use SPF 45 and I'm really really pale (as are my kids). But I burn through the sunscreen a lot, and so the best thing for me (and kids) is to avoid the sun totally. There's a catalog, Solumbra (www.solumbra.com) that sells great things for sun-sensitive people, but it's sort of expensive.
 <--that's how I look after 5 minutes in the sun
thanks melonball!
