I want some soap crayons for my son to play with in his bath but I can't find them anywhere around here and I don't like the prices even without shipping for the places I have found them online. I looked up some recipes for making soap crayons and most of the ones I saw were basically this : 1 cup powdered laundry detergent and 2 tbs water to make 20 crayons. Am I a complete idiot or is the water to soap ratio completely out of whack ?!! I tryed it against my better judgement and I ended up with a small quantity of soapy water that would definately not make 20 freaking crayons. Maybe 5 at best. Does anyone have a good recipe or helpful tips for making soap crayons or really any bath concoctions that would be fun for a 2-3 year old ?? Does anyone know of a good place to but soap crayons that don't cost more than $6 a package ?? Thanks,

Over here you can pay $5 for just 2 tiny crayon's with a bath mit. Here's a recipe..
Soap Crayons
Ingredients
1 cup of soap flakes
2 tbsps water
1 tbsps cooking oil
food colouring (strong colours)
Method
Mix all the ingredients together making sure there is lots of colour, until it is a thick paste with no lumps. Roll into thick crayon like sticks. Leave for a few days to dry.
Thanks for the recipe. Did you find that somewhere on the internet ?? Just curious of how I missed it after all the looking I did. So how many crayons does that recipe make ? Thanks,
I did find it online, i did a search in http://www.google.com and typed "soap crayon recipes" in the search, and it'll pull all the sites up with soap crayon recipes on them. I'm not sure how many crayon's it will make as that may depend on how thick you roll them. Another recipe i found was the exact same one except it omited the oil.
I found them on clearance at walmart for 50 cents! Crayola, 8 crayons in the package. I don't know how much they normally cost.
