yay! She's finally here! I was induced yesterday (10/05) at 9am, I didn't even realize until around 10am I'd been given the pitocin already and when the nurse informed me I had, I was really shocked... anyways, it didn't really get anything going at all, at around 2pm my midwife broke my bag of water and things finally got rolling, I had an epidural for the pain which was probably the most painful part of the whole labor (that and having my IV put in place.. i have tricky small veins!) .. at around 4:30pm I started complaining that I was having abdominal pressure/pain and my nurse said "well.. we probably need to top off your epidural!" .. I'd only had it for maybe over an hour though and was skeptical after Xander's birth which resulted in an extra epidural that was un-needed.. so I made my nurse check me first and she was thinking I wasn't much past 5cm.. well the head was right there and I was ready to push.. my midwife hurried in and they got everything ready.. I pushed for around 10 or so minutes while trying to breath through my contractions. My best friend and her mom were there with me, along with my husband.. having them all there was so great.. Brett seriously made it all easier for me, and I kept getting emotional during pushing by all the things he was saying and how incredibly emotional he was.. oh it was great. I didn't tear or need an episiotomy (thank goodness!)
Soooo.. at 4:58pm on 10/05/2004 Ceilidh (KAY-lee) was born. She weighed 7 pounds, 1.5 ounces. 19.5 inches long. She has lots of dark brown hair, has blue eyes and is very very strong.. she's so sweet, and a little stubborn too :) They let us leave the hospital early this afternoon since Im an "experienced mama" heh.. so we've been at home adjusting today. Xander is still getting used to her, and considering he met her for the first time at around 2pm today, he's doing very well.. he gave her a kiss before bed tonight after not wanting to touch her all afternoon which was sweet..
..TO ALL THE MAMAS WITH 2+ KIDS: wow.. seriously mamas, wow. I'm feeling overwhelmed already.. how do you all do it!!??
I'll post pictures probably tomorrow.

Congratulations mama! I'm sure some of the pros around here can give you some tips on parenting two children. Best of luck with everything. :)

Awww, congrats!! It DOES get easier. Going from one to two is very hard the first couple of weeks, but you'll get used to it. Make sure Xander has some mommy time to himself, because he's probably feeling misplaced, or "dethroned" (as we called it) by the new baby. After a couple of weeks you'll be pretty much used to it. A lil advice. If you have to go to the store, park close to one of those cart corrals, or park close to a shopping cart, that will make it a lot easier especially if you are alone.
Congratulations, mama!!!
Congrats!

Thanks mamas.. it's been a rough day, so coming on here and seeing all the posts made my day :D Ceilidh is Scottish.. we'd gone to the highland games at the end of July in WA (being Scottish and never had gone.. sorta silly of me!).. and we were waiting to talk to a woman at this booth and they had all these words, how to say them and meanings on the sides of the booth and one of them was "Ceilidh" and I told Brett that would be an awesome name and slowly it just sort of stuck.. :)
Congrats!! Sounds like you had a pretty good birthing experience as well=) Hope your enjoying every minute of it!!! :D
Congrats Mama!!!! May you feel better soon!!!!!
Well done to you and welcome to your little Ceilidh!
May you and yours be surrounded by love, warmth and kindness.
