Well ladies, this may be last time I post for awhile. I was admitted into the hospital yesterday, having horrible back pains. I was having contractions every 6 minutes, then went down to every 3 minutes, then anywhere from 2-5 minutes. I was one cm dialated and they said my cervix was very, very mushy.

My nurse came in and said "Well, we would like you deliver at 35-36 weeks if possible, but since you are uh...34 and 6/7ths that....*long pause* okay, hold on I'm going to go call your doctor."

The doctor said not to give me anything to stop it and to monitor me for 3 hours and NOT to give me another cervixal exam because that increased my contraction rate. I was so exhausted I couldn't even breathe through the contractions so they gave me sleeping pills. The pills almost stopped my contractions and now are only on in back, coming every 30 minutes, no biggie. But they say that within a week to 1 1/2 weeks he'll be here.

I'll try to update when I can. I'm just getting all the rest and pampering I can get my hands on before I go back into the hospital.

Good luck!! It's great that you were able to make it that long (34, almost 35 weeks is really good). So just try to relax the best you can, and whatever happens happens. Keep us updated the best you can. We'll be thinking about you.

Really, really tired Kristy here...so this post may be kind of...woozy?

I've been in and out of the hospital since Saturday night. They didn't give me shots of turb or anything to really stop the contractions. I'm once again dialated to one and my cervix is really mushy. They sent me home with more sleeping pills, hoping they would knock out my contractions. They didn't. But they did make the space inbetween increase. (I was once at every 2 minutes apart, and currently it's about one ever 30 minutes.)

I went in yesterday night to recieve an amnio. They first gave me an ultrasound to see how much he would weight, which would be about 5 1/2 pounds. He was moving way too much and they were scared to give me the amnio because of his movements. They want me to wait at least until 36 weeks and they may induce me then because of how exhausted I am. (I've maybe had 16 hours of sleep since saturday night.) But yet they are even too scared to induce me incase it wouldn't work, therefore making me even more tired.

They gave me a shot of morphine which they hoped would knock me out so I couldn't feel the contractions. It did for about 2 hours, then I woke up every hour, just in time for a lovely contraction. But I did manage to get more sleep last night then I had in awhile.

I'm a very cranky person right now. I yell at the slightest mistake. And boy, you should hear me when I'm having a contraction and my mom is telling me to breath...I scream at her. It's pretty bad. I didn't think that I would act like this. Then I almost kicked Channing in the face when he was rubbing my feet. Yeah, I'm such a wonderful wife. :?

My next doctor's appointment is on Thursday. I'll know more information after that. I don't know when the next time I'll post...but I promise I'll try to keep everyone updated as much as possible.

Hang in their kristy your almost there. I know it sucks to have contractions and not sleep. When I was in labor with my daughter I got maybe 2 hours of sleep and I was in labor for 40 hours so yeah I was very cranky. I yelled at my mother and allen(BD) swore also at both of them. I threw shit also. The nurses were afiard to come to close to me. I hope you have him soon. keep us updated if you can. PM me if you need to talk.

Kristy,
Unless you get some sleep I'd be super wary about them inducing you. Induction is really hard on your body and if you are already tired it could very well make labor more difficult than it needs to be. If your body is going into labor naturally and they are having to give you drugs to stop it, you shouldn't have to induce. Maybe they could just take you off the drugs and have you do more natural induction methods like sex or walking--things that don't totally stress your body.

Well I'm rested and able to update.

I went to the doctor's today. We had a long talk about just everything. From my cramping to my delivery. That way we were all on the same page about my birthing experience.

So...I'm able to flush my meds down the toilet now. The cramping (contractions) I'm experiencing are slowly making my cervix thin out which will ultimately help the birthing process because I'll be about ready to go when it's actually time. In the meantime, he says I can go back to regular activities (aka...sex) and that I can start walking around and such to speed things up.

He doesn't want me waiting for longer then two weeks though because he very afraid of how exhausted my body would be in and he doesn't want me to have a c-section just because I can't push Kade out. So if in two weeks I'm not in full blown labor by myself, he will be inducing me by first using pitocin and breaking my water. (This is of course I've I'm dialated passed 2 cm)

He gave me choice if I wanted to be checked today to see if I was dialated and I said no. I didn't want to have major contractions afterwards and my body becoming even more tired. He thought I made a very wise decision.

And good news. I've gained 2 pounds! Making my total weight gain about 23 pounds.

Anywho, I thought I would let everyone know what was going on. Thanks for the endless support!

Girls, I've been having contractions and they'll get really bad...as in I'll be screaming in pain. Then they'll get a little bitter and tolerable, but it still kind of painful. We decided NOT go into the hospital until I can't take this anymore that way I can be actually be addmitted into the hospital without being sent home with a sleeping pill or shot of morphine.

So to increase these contractions and keep them going...do you have any ideas? MIL suggested taking a warm bath, then get out and lay on my right side, then switch to the left side. She said it works just as good as walking 5 miles. I only have a shower...will this still work? We've had sex a couple times, but it didn't really do anything.

Ideas...please?

Laying will not help as much as walking. Walking is very effective and can ease labour. Good luck.

Went into the hospital at 3 AM this morning. (I decided to come home so I could sleep in my own bed. Hospital beds are horrible.) Anywho-I'm dialated to 2 cm and already 80% effaced. They are thinking that by maybe tomorrow I'll be in full blown labor. If not, my doctor will move around my membranes at my appointment on Friday. I'm dead tired, and I hate contractions...so I'm going to go lay down. I just wanted to update.

Just a quick question....what does it mean when they tell me that I'm at a -2?

It means the baby is very far down. The farthest down is a -2 or a -3.

Ehm....Sorry to be a bummer, but I'm pretty sure that station goes from negative to positive. For example -3, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, +3. Zero is when the head is right at the ishial spines (a pointy part of your pelvis). Most women don't get past zero until they are in active labor, so don't worry about it!!!

I googled this to be sure: http://www.parentsplace.com/expert/midwife/qas/0,10338,205680_234310,00.html?arrivalSA=1&cobrandRef=0&arrival_freqCap=1&pba=adid=11499886

Also, if your baby is plus station you will probably be able to feel the head if you give yourself a vaginal exam.

Ah man. i can't believe I messed that up. I'm smart. Sorry to get your hopes up Pook, but either way, you are probably close. A lot of babies down engage until labour.
