I read this at work today and tears started flowing there at my desk. Her resiliency and generosity just floors me. I can't even begin to express my admiration for this woman.
She was brutalized, yet she spends her compensation money, more money than she was likely to ever see in her lifetime, on education for her village.
I'm going to do some research and see if there is a way to donate to those schools.

What many of us would consider a small sum can really go a long way here. Teachers at the school are paid $25 a month, according to another article I came across.
Thanks for posting this. Wow, that woman has a lot of courage. It is nice to see an article like this one, it makes one realize how far we still have to go for women's rights (especially in other areas of the world), and it is good to see such a positive step forward.
