I am a customer rep and I answer atleast 200 calls a day! Here in my department we answer atleast 4,000 calls a day! Anyways I just got a damn phone call from a pervert. This is how the convo was
"This is Kelly how may I direct your call?"
man says "What do you have on?"
"Excuse me?!?!?!?!"
"What are you wearing today?"
"Who is this!??!?!?!"
Then he hung up!
Usually the telephone number will show on the display unless it is an unknown number. I also forgot there is an emergency button on the phone(never had to use) and that is the only way for security to track the number(I guess).
So I asked my manager if there is anything else I can do because that is disgusting and I feel real violated. I dont even want to answer the phone. UGH! She said oh that used to happen its no big deal. WTF! There has to be somehting I can do!
ugh! we get calls like that from time to time at work. At my work we just have to hang up and ignore it as far as i know. One time a girl was closing by herself and a guy called and told her he was gonna follow her to the bank and kill her (we do the deposit everynight which is usually 500+ bucks) so she called mall security and they could only follow her to the bank. Nothing happened but i thought it was stupid they couldnt trace the call. Well that would really gross me out what happened to ya kelly! sorry i cant be of more help...
If it bothered you, then it IS a big deal! Is there anyone besides your manager you could bring it up to? Someone who might take it more seriously? Did the # show up on the display so that you guys could track the call?
I could talk to my head manager. I just think it is disgusting!! The number usually shows up but it didnt.
Im sorry you had to deal with that Kelly. Try to do what you can, because you deserve to feel safe and comfortable at work and you dont need phone harrasment.
