Epidurals and back problems?

I was just wondering if anyone else started having problems with their back after having an epidural? I sometimes get this pain, like a big electric shock, that starts where they gave me my epidural. I can't hardly breath when it happens b/c breathing makes it worse. When I was given my epi I had the same shock and the lady got mad at me for jumping away from it~ I had no control over it~ I did not do it on purpose. I thought it would go away w/ time, but it has been 3 years now. I just wanted to know if anyone else has this b/c I'm pretty sure it is from the epi, but maybe it is just a coincidence?

I have lingering pain occasionally, very sharp like you described. The man missed the first one...

I personally never had any issues. Even when the anistegioligist(sp) put it my lower back it didn't really hurt. It just felt like skraping. ALSO mine wasn't even storng. WASNT WORTH IT!!

mine sucked too! Well thats not totally true. It hurt for another hour, then worked for maybe an hour, then wore off again. I never had any problems with it either, after it got taken out.

I had problems too, for quite a long time - about two years. I was so pissed about the epidural because of that and several other reasons. But, my back problems are gone now and it is a result of a less than practical solution. My mom got me a futon for christmas about a year and a half ago and seriously, I have not had my back problems since.

I had the same thing, but it didn't last for that long, maybe just a few months.

Me too!! Mine worked for like 30 min and then wore off. Totally not worth it!! and to top it off, I'm left with (minor) pains in my the center of my back that I never had before.
