My sister went for an abortion today [something happened so she couldn't get it done today and she is going back]. Anyway, she took 2 of her friends. One whom has had an abortion. That girl told my sister she was against abortions and she is only going to make sure she is safe. Umm wtf? You've had an abortion. How could you be against them?!
I know a lot of people who are against abortion after having one. I think most of them didn't think they would have to recover from an abortion or unhappy with their experiance. I know it's crazy. My sister is against abortions for everyone exept her.
It's very easy for people to make broad (and I think...altogether too simplified) moral statements...but only acknoweldge the "exception" in their case. It's only human to understand one's situation better than others, however it's not right to refuse to understand and accept EVERYONE ELSES REASON (but theirs, of course)
I'm sorry your sister had to deal with that. Give her a hug for me and let her know that some complete stranger in Las Vegas completely supports her descision. And I'm proud of her for even having to deal with that shit.
Lots of people who have had abortions change thier views on choice. Many years ago, I vounteered at a crisis pregnancy center. Most of the counselors and admins had had abortions and they offerred counseling for women who faced depression and regret after an abortion.
