Need Help

Alright.. i have applied for public-aid for Illinois. We had gotten a doctor for my daughter before she was born that would coveer us under public-aid. The thing is that he is a family doctor, and not a very good one. My daughter was 5 weeks early and still has alot of problems. She gets sick veery easy, and the doctor doesn't seem to care. So i need to get a new doctor... but I don't know of any perdiatritions arround here... and ones that will take public aid... any help or infor would be greatly appritiated.

i dont have any recomendation on doctors, but i will tell you your not alone. we took riley to a family doctor and it really sucked. when we switched to a ped you could tell a real difference in her care. good luck.

i bet the public assisstance office could help you find a doctor

When we got our state-funded insurance, they sent us a packet with info on the insurance, and a list of doctors. You could also look in your local yellow pages for pediatiricians and call them.

If your child has a health card, call the number listed on it, or if you get anything in the mail each month or whatever, call that. We got a booklet just like Betty Crocker. Unfortunately, Texas has like, the worst Medicaid in the country so hardly any doctors will take new Medicaid patients. The best we can do here is go to a clinic and Dylan can get checked out by a random intern each time who usually doesn't know what they're talking about. Let them practice on the poor kids, of course! Blah, I'm bitter, sorry.

After years of waiting, we finally got low-cost insurance with Kaiser Permantente (I just got the letter yesterday). is this a possibility in your state? Everyone's ID card is the same, so the doctors dont know whether you are low income. Im so excited to finally be treated like a normal person.
