Headaches

Ok so i am 9 1/2 weeks pregnant and not having too many symptoms (ive been looking not to have morning sickness). 2 major symptoms im having are bad bad shooting pains in my back and headaches. I am use to getting migrains and i actually have medicine for them but now im not alloweed to take it. My Doctor told me i could take tylenol. But for real do you think that stuff is going to work on someone that has migrains? Did any of you get headaches so bad? If so what did you do about them?

Headaches

Have you thought about seeing someone that specializes in treatment of chronic headaches and migraines? A lot of times, they can work with you to help you make lifestyle changes (like the foods you eat, the activities you do, etc) to help reduce the frequency of migraines. I agree with you, Tylenol probably won't cut it for migraines (it never works for mine).

Also, even though your next doctor's appointment isn't until August, if you are in a lot of pain, you can call and ask to be seen sooner, or talk to a nurse or doctor by phone about your problems. They may be able to offer advice or help.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon!

Headaches

I have seen a specialist about the migrains and i am on medication for them. But due to my pregnancy i cannot take it. The headaches though arent ne thing like a migrain. Ive hear of people getting headaches during pregnancy but didnt think it was this much. If i continue to get them i will call the doctor on Monday. Thanks.

I'm 10 1/2 weeks pregnant and I too suffer from migraines.. prior to pregnancy I was also on medication for them but like you, can't take it while pregnant.. anyways I've had a couple bad migraines since I've been pregnant, one which lasted for 2 days before I finally went to urgent care because I couldn't handle it anymore.. they gave me Vicodin to deal with it and it worked.. if you continue to suffer talk to the doctor.. I completely here you as far as the tylenol thing.. it doesn't do a thing for my headaches either.. Good luck
