i really just need to rant. so here i go,
i graduated in may. with my aa in graphic design. since march, i've been applying everywhere~ design firms, ad agencies, local newspapers, any and every place that puts out a newsletter. since june, i've started applying for anything, retail, office, light industrial. i've tried temp agencies. i call places back. i send thank-you notes after interviews. i'm really freakin' nice and they do tell me they like me/my work! but everywhere is a no.
i also applied (again, but that explaination will be longer) to the universtiy to get my ba. but i applied late~ for both the school and fin aid. so i'm on the waiting list for some classes and some fin aid packages. right now, if i do go back to school (i think i'll keep looking for work for 2 or 3 more weeks) i'll have enough for tutition, books, and the kid's afterschool care. but that's it. gas money? bills? soap? credit card that we've been living on for the past 3 months? not sure. i've also applied for jobs on campus, but most want workstudy students (on waiting list).
argh. does sound like it'll work out? or am i just freakin' nuts? any other suggestions?
I know how you feel. I graduated in December and have a B.S. in Business Management. I have yet to find a decent job. Right now I'm working retail for barely above minimum wage. There's hardly any jobs listed in the papers around here, but everything I see, I apply for. The few interviews I've had, I always call back, let them know I'm still interested, etc., but...nothing.
So, I don't know what it is...guess the job market just sucks right now. If you do get back into school, the nice thing is that you won't have to pay back your student loans until you're out again! Mine just came due, and I don't have the money to pay any of them.
