2nd degree burns on face

I got really bad sunburn on face. I went to the beach yesterday and I forgot to put sunscreen on my face I put it every where else but not my face. Now my face is dark red and is blistering. It is also swollen and puffy. Is their anyhting I can do to reduce the puffynes and swelling. I want the redness to go away. Everybody at work is saying did you get burnt. Im tired of the remarks. Is their anything that will make this go away fast. Thanks.

you went to the hospital and everything? They should have given you suggestions as to what to use on it, if anything at all. I would call your doctor and ask.

i had 2nd and 3rd degree burns a few years ago (not from the sun) and you don't want to mess with burns, they can get infected easily.

No I didn't go to the hospital or doctor. I got burnred like this a few months ago and my skin peeled twice and then the space between my breasts changed colors to white and dosen't match my skin tone, that part always burns fasts. Is their anything I can buy over the counter for the burns? I tryed vitiman E and mosterizer and that nothing to relife the pain and swelling.

definitely see a doctor, the skin on your face is so delicate! I just wouldn't want to mess with it by putting something on your skin that might make things worse...

I have recently become the 2nd degree burn expert. Daniel got exploded in July, 10-15% of his skin had second degree burns.

If you really have second degree burns, which I would suggest you have a doctor diagnose before deciding yourself, the best cream is called Silvadine. Its a silver oxide cream to protect and cool the new tender skin. You should get this seen by a doctor because if it doesn't heal within 28 days the likelyhood is, you will have perminent damage to your dermis.
Doctor's know best though, I wouldn't just wing it.

I work in a hospital and all night the nurses and pharmacis said that the way the blistering was it was second degree burns and even the docotors on the floor said so. If it gets really bad I'll go to the ER but I really don't want to and wait all night long with a 1 year lod.

well if thats what they said... daniel used silvadine, layered on thick like vanilla frosting. but, his burns were probably more severe, his were almost 3rd degree, he barely had skin in the places he was burned.
If you work in a hospital, why dont you wander over to the burn unit and ask the nurses idleing for a spot of coffee what they think would help?

I got badly sunburnt when I was a teenager and I remember going to the hospital a couple times to sit under some lamp that dried it out, and then the skin peeled off. I have little marks on each side of my face where there are no freckles......
I ALWAYS wear sunscreen now.
