Anyone making cookies or some other treat like that for halloween??
I want to make something for my grandparents and SO, but I have NO clue what to make!
Maybe pumpkin cookies? If i find something I will post the recipie...I would love to hear what everyone else does, though!

what if you made just a basic sugar cookie, then "painted" them with a colored sugar solution and did the details with icing (stem and any lines)?
You could probably make little pumpkin pie tartlets from scratch- just sacrifice one of your pumpkins :D
INGREDIENTS
2 cups flour
1 cup quick oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup margarine or butter softened
1 cup of firmly packed brown sugar (dark or light)
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup Libby's Solid Pack Pumpkin
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips or M&M's candies
1 cup raisins
1 cup nuts (any kind)
Preheat Oven to 350° F. Combine flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Cream butter, gradually add sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Alternate additions of dry ingredients and pumpkin, mixing well after each addition. Stir in morsels. For each cookie, drop 1/4 cup dough onto lightly greased cookie sheet; spread into shape using a thing metal spatula. Bake at 20 to 25 minutes until cookies are firm and lightly browned.
There is pumpkin cookies... also if you wanted to do a not sweet treat you could save the seeds from one of your pumpkins, wash them, spead them on a cookie sheet, season them and then bake them for a while..very good!! :)
ewe sorry, i just read the first few ingedients to make sure they were pumpkin, i didn't notice the raisans and m&ms and nuts, you could just skip that and just have pumpkin, i think you could even skip the oats in you wanna! It's up to you and the tastes of your family.
I like to take the seeds out of the pumpkin and bake them, its very good.
Caramel Apples (you can slice apples and dip them in the caramel sauce then in whatever and have them on a toothpick for a smaller, cheaper version) since apples are in season.
There are festive sprinkles or using orange frosting on cut out cookies.
You can make eyeballs from a powdered donut hole, a gummy lifesaver and a chocolate chip (use red icing to make it look bloodshot :D).
An autumn trail mix with candy corn in it.
Using google for halloween treats would bring up even more ;D
Caramelized Pumpkin Seeds
1/2 cup butterscotch caramel sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon extract
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 cups pumpkin seeds, roasted
1 cup almonds, crushed
Lightly coat baking sheet with cooking spray and set aside.
In a large skillet, slowly melt the caramel sauce and sugar. When melted stir in cinnamon extract and cayenne. Continue cooking until mixture reaches a temperature of 310 degrees F. Stir in pumpkin seeds until completely coated. Spread caramelized seeds onto the baking sheet and sprinkle with crushed almonds. Separate seeds with wooden spoon until cooled.
Cook's Notes:
Melted sugar is very hot. Please use extreme caution when handling and pouring. Pumpkin seeds may be purchased already roasted. If using the seeds from a jack-o-lantern, rinse and clean seeds. Place on a baking sheet, lightly coated with cooking spray, in a preheated 250 degree F oven. Roast seeds for about 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes. The actual seed of the pumpkin is inside the hull. The hull is edible.
There are these really yummy little pumpkins called 'sugar pie pumpkins' I think, and you just slice them in half, take out the seeds add some butter and brown sugar and bake them. Nummy!
