my mom just took her to the DR for me today and she came home with a neb and abuteral(sp) and they said she definatly has asthma. I had it as a kid and all my cousins on my moms side have it. shes been coughing for over a week and nothing was helping and today she was wheezing bad.
on top of all that she has 2 ear infections too.

Eric has those symptoms too but they won't diagnose it as asthma yet because they said sometimes things change as they get older. It is a really hard thing to deal with. When he first took home his neb I was so worried (and still am) that he will have a hard time breathing and not be able to play sports, and be really sick and stuff. He stopped having to use it for almost a month but now he started having to use it again. I hope everything goes ok with that.
my aunt (a pedi RN) said that DRs dont like to officially diagnose it because insurance companies dont like it.

no, my aunt had to go thru a TON of b/s for my little cousin. he was in the hospital sooo many times in the o2 tent thingy, and they called it accute broncitus till he was like 3.
That is so stupid, but whatever at least they are still giving them medicine. Is she doing better from the neb?
no shes still wheezing baaad. we were doing it every 2 hours while she slept. but now that shes awake we will do it every 4...she hates it
That sucks. Last time he had it thats how he was for like 3 days before it started working. This time i started nebbing him when he just had a cough so he hasnt gotten worse but he hasnt gotten better either.
Skylar- kids with asthma can still play sports. I had asthma and played a ton of sports. You have to do certain things depending on the severity of it, but it's way possible regardless....
