my daughter (nine months) has been absolutely miserable for the past day and a half...here are her symptoms:
-runny nose-thick green mucous
-wet cough which sometimes coughs up mucous
-wheezing
-trouble breathing when lying down (...sleeplessness)
-low grade fever (101) that wont go down with tylenol, tepid bath etc.
-chills/shivering
any ideas on what might be going on...this is definatly more than just a cold. im waiting for a the doctor to call... that could take forever!!

if the doc takes too long. go to the emergency room. i did that with my son when he was one. he got broncitis
If she is truely having trouble breathing- you need to take her to the ER immediately, even if it's only while she's laying down.
A fever is not a cause for concern. It is the body's way of healing itself and you should NOT be in a hurry to lower it. It will actually keep her sick longer if you do. Treat the child, not the fever. A physiologically normal child will NOT run a fever high enough to cause brain damage. (The exceptions are babies under 3 months, heat exaustion or stroke, or anything that artificially raises the temperature.)
Talk to your doctor, by all means, but know that a fever in and of itself, is actually a great thing for a sick kid!
