WELL SOMONE HAD TO BRING IT UP

Okay i personally did not have these but it was a big fear of mine when i was pregnant. Hemmoroids? Who got them and how did you deal? My co-workers all swore i would get them after delivering austin because of the pushing stage but i got lucky. Spill it ladies. We can let it all hang out here

im just trying to stay regular and know my body. i wait until it tells me its ready to poop rather that try every time i go to the bathroom. as for the actually delivery im hoping to let gravity help and try the more upright positions - standing, all fours, dangling etc.

I've never had them either :D And this is my third pregnancy and I'm almost done and still no signs!!!

I was totally freaked though, that I would get them, I guess staying regular is the thing.

I didn't tear at all after pushing my daughter out, but I wound up with such a small hemorrhoid that they didn't even bother to treat it. They said it would go away on it's own, and it did.

I didn't get them during my pregnancy or birth, but BD got them. Kinda interesting how that worked out, I think it was sympathy sickness.

He was given some cream or some such to put on it. I'm quite surprised I didn't get them because I had trouble going, I often had to strain.

Here's a dumb question... but how do you know you have them?

how do you know you have got them? trust me... you'll know. when you poop you feel like you are giving birth out of your arse. the ripping... the blood... ouch

i got them after the birth of my boy. i was to scared to go to the doc about them, so i suffered for 3 long months until they went away.
i wouldn't recommend anyone do that though, if you get them, see a doc asap!

I never got them either.. its weird hardly anyone on here has said they have, because everyone kept telling me I had them to 'look forward to in pregnancy' when I was pregnant with Xander.. but hey this pregnancy isnt over yet.. cross my fingers!

I have them, but I don't feel any pain at all. It is weird. Also, it has been eleven weeks, and I have tried every medicine otc, but they aren't going away. I will have to mention it to my doctor. I hope I don't have to have them surgically removed like my mil did.

I didn't get them when I was pregnant, but then again I didn't get varicose veins either, and aren't hemorrhoids basically just varicose veins in your butt? Maybe older mamas are more prone to them than girlmoms. Hey, there would be a great statistic to throw out in our defense when we're being attacked by the anti-teen-parent, 'wait-to-have-sex-til-you're-thirty' faction!

I've been reading up on mercury lately and found out most haemmorroid ointments have mercury in them so not a great idea to put on highly absorbant skin - it will go staight to your blood stream.
Hypericum ointment is a much safer and better idea.

I have/had hemmoroids. Gr.. the little bits of skin are still there- really embarressing!
They itch like there's no tomarrow, sometimes. That's about the only affect they have on me.
