Returning groceries

My ex MIL, my kid's grandmother takes the kids about once a month. Afterwards, she sends home stuff for me to pack int hier lunch boxes.

It;s very generous of her and I appreciate her thoughtfulness, but it's always junk food, stuff I'm not comfortable with them eating more than once in a very great while.

SO, I have a stack of sugary juice boxes and a few unopened boxes of fruit roll-ups.

Can I exchange them at the grocery store? I've enver returned food before.

I think you can return that kind of food assuming it hasn't been tampered with. I've returned stuff at my grocery store, but it was always diapers or wrong batteries.

I would assume no about meat, dairy, or produce beucase of the shelf life, but that kind of stuff isn't the same. It's always worth a shot.

I think you would need a receipt to exchange or return them.

Maybe you can exchange in wal-mart? They dont require a receipt. But youd have to go in and check if they even sell the same brand of snacks and juice. But then youd be stuck with a store credit. I dont know if you're ok with that.

If you can't return it, maybe you can give it to the food bank?

My grocery store takes anything back. My mom returned a roast she'd already cooked because it smelled funny. Their store policy is "The sale isn't final until the meal has been eaten and enjoyed."
