I've seen various adds in my local news paper for secret shoppers needed.
My boyfriend and I really enjoy going out for food. I am naturally always critiquing service. I'm wierd like that. I thought this might be a nice thing to try.
I don't know if I'd really make a profit, but atleast I'd get the money that I spend back, ya know?
Has anyone ever done any secret shopping? What did you think? Was it worth it?

I don't know much about secret shopping but I am pretty sure that you get compensated food or whatever it is you are buying.
I've never done any secret shopping, but you have to be really careful because a lot of those kind of jobs are actually scams.. perhaps check with the better business bureau to see if a company is ligite before you get involved..
I did it once, it was not a scam, but not enough money to be worth it.
The assignment I had was to go to a KRISPY KREME. They told me exactly what to order and I had to go on a specific day during a time frame of about 2 hours. The donuts and coffee were reimbursed and the payment was $6. Not really worth it for me.
I know once you star doing it, they give you better-paying assignments. My husband dated a girl who got to go to a theme park for an entire day and was able to get free clothes at the mall a few times.
I'm sorry, my brain ain't working right now...how exactly does it work? what IS it? I'm all confused... :?
Secret shoppers are contracted workers who write up reports on the service they receive at different place. The company then uses the report to improve produtcs and services and make sure their employees are doing thier jobs.
1-800-356-6067 try this for info
ugh! Please ignore the phone # I posted. That company requires that you pay for membership.
I will continue to look for the comapny where I worked.
I've looked into it, but the hastle of me having to get the girls out and do it wasn't worth it. If i could've done it w/out having to haul around the kids i'd probably get more into it since you can get free food, gas, products out of it. You just have to make sure you do it exactly as they want or they won't accept it.
I actually got a chick fired from secret shopping. The casino i used to work at had shoppers come in and how well we did actually affected our job security and raise. DH's ex-wife and her best friend were shoppers. The best friend came in and "shopped" me, and tried to give me an awful score. I knew it was her and that i was being shopped...she was just trying to fuck w/ me. So i told my boss, who told the company, who let her go when they found out.
I take surveys online for extra cash. It's not much at all (like $10 a month or so), but it's not hard and since i'm on the internet anyways i might as well.
the surveys? which ones are the real ones? i've heard about them, but i heard some were fake??
Secret shopers over here get payed a fair amount for what they do. The company they work for pays for everything they have to buy etc. So a free day of free shopping. Good luck though id love to do it if i wasnt already doing what im doing now!!
I did it once. We went to the movies. They reimbursed my for two tickets and popcorn. I had to go at a certain time and ask ccertain questions. Then I had to fill out an evaluation and mail it back. That particular shop was cool because I took my kid to see something he wanted to see. Most of the other "shops" wouldn't be worth my time becasye there for places I would never go and they usually reimburse you or pay you very little. I signed up online. I'll see if I can find you the link.
wow! that actually sound kinda neat--I might have to look into that ^^
sometimes it's cool, but sometimes you have to go to a store and be a real big b*tch to the salespeople and everything and then see how they deal with it, buy stuff and take it back, all that. i've never done it, but my mom's friend did for awhile, and she didn't care for it.
I start my secret shopping job tomorrow.
This is different than what has been previously mentioned.
I actualy work in an outbound call center.
I will have a survey in front of me and a script that tells me what to order.
I am supposed to see if the employees are doing their job correctly.
This costs me absolutely NO MONEY and pays $10 per hour to work in an office where I can dress however I like and they blast the Pixies over the sound system.
They also have said they are interested in fast-tracking me to Quality Control where they handle all of the advertising, editing & proofreading, since I told them I write a zine and my goal is to write for the masses (the indie masses anyway).
I work M-F 5-9pm.
The company is National Shopping Service and I believe they do have the work from home shoppers as well.
This is going to RULE.
