So you think you can dance

Oh man, I watched this show for the first time tonight and I'm hooked. I love love love watching people dance. I cant dance AT ALL but any dancing shows and movies are so entertaining. I didnt like how mean they are to the people who didnt make it though (same as American Idol). Does anyone else share this guilty pleasure with me?

I miss cable, I've wanted to watch shows like this. I love love love dancing, I can belly dance and salsa, and can rip it up at the clubs :) I've always loved watching dancing movies too, movies like Honey, Save the Last Dance, and even Bring it On.

I so wish I could belly dance. I'm not even coordinated enough to hokey pokey.. Did you take a class or teach yourself? I was debating on whether or not to take a class so I could get out of the house and get some exercise but I'm scared I won't be able to get the hang of it.

I took a class :) When I was a bit younger I went into a phase where I wanted to learn random things, and took kick boxing and belly dancing during the same period. fun! Although I also have to admit about a year after that I started picking things up from Shakira videos. Before she had her big English hits anyways. Check out the video for Ojos Asi, there's some great dancing in there. I learned how to salsa from volunteering at Expo Latino. We also held and ran a club night during the festival called El Bombazo, in which I learned many dances from super hot Spanish boys.

If you're going to take lessons, make sure you're taking beginner or starters classes. Most dance places I've gone to are really great at explaining things at good paces. It is REALLY great exercise. After a few belly dancing classes it felt like I had done a thousand sit ups and lunges, cause it doesn't just work out your abs but your legs and butt get a huge workout too. Although if yr beginning at dancing, another form might be easier. I took belly dancing cause I was already really good at using my hips that way, i'd imagine it'd be hard to coordinate for someone without dance experience, so something else might be a bit easier to start out with.

My hips and butt are seriously the only thing I'm good with. Like if you were to see me dance it would probably just be booty stuff, which pretty much gets old after a while.. . But oh yeah I'd definetly have to do beginners because I'm so slow at learning dance moves its frustrating.

I wanted to take kickboxing too!! Mostly because I got followed by a van and it really freaked me out so I decided that I was going to learn some ass kicking moves. But the classes around here are so damn expensive..

What other kind of dance would be good to start with?

I Love It!
But it also breaks my heart because I dance for 16 years, and then was injured. Same year I got accepted to the NBS. Go Figure!

Yes! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who loves watching dancing! I've always wanted to enter into some sort of beginner dance class, but I dont know anyone who would do it with me and I might be so bad it would be embarrassing.

ugh..I did TAp and Ballet for about *counts*5 years, then dropped tap and continued with ballet for *counts more*11 more year, then I started having knee problems and had to quit *feels like crying* it's so sad....it feels like a part of me is missing without it, but now I don't have the time to do it and my back is just as bad as my knees now
