I went to my local grocery today to buy some Amy's Organic Mexican Tamale Pies. As I was dreaming over the yummy goodness, I pulled out my trusty food stamp card, only to be denied. I pulled out the four dollars to pay for them, thought oh well it's not that much and walked out to leave. Then the thought hit me. If I can buy coca cola and candy with this card, I should be able to buy this dinner. I decided to talk to the manager to see what was up.
Turns out it just wasn't in their system of food stampable foods. All they needed was to see the barcode and enter it in.
Sweet sweet tamale pie. Now food stampable for everyone at my grocery. Delicious!

good stuff mama!
haha, awesome
lol. that happened to me the other day. i was buying a sorbet at the "good" grocery store. actuially it's just the good grocery store, no quotes. they carry better things there. i got a few looks while the cashier fixed things but i got my strawberry sorbet!
yeah...one time I tried to buy a pumpkin with food stamps, and the wouldn't let me because it was 'a decoration'. I didn't even think to argue with them.
That pumpkin was awesome, though. It made three pies and a loaf of bread.
