Hi, ladies--I've got a *big* problem here (well, my good friend does).

Recently, she an her fiance concieved and since finding out, his parents won't let her stay with them so she has been sleeping in the town park's gazebo (sp?)She has no family except her mother who lives in a group home right now somewhere (she doesn't know the name, loacation or phone number of the place) and they're afraid to call social services becuase she is 18 and he is 17.

My questions: (1)Since they are close ebnough in age, would they still get in trouble?(2) Is there any way to find out where her mother is?

Any help would be *immencely* appreciated. Thanks.

There must be a womans homeless shealter in your area she could go to until she finds a more suitable place. Sleeping outside sounds kind of dangerous and uncomfortable.

Or can she stay with you?

There must be a program out there for young homeless pregnant woman. In my city theres something called Bethany house, which houses low income single mothers and their children. They get a room and share the bathroom and kitchen, i suppose kind of like a dorm. it's religously affiliated though. I'm not a religous person myself, but in her sittuation, she shoulds like she could use any help there is.

that's what I said..we're checking to see if she can stay with us (my mom's totally for it, but we just wave to get dad to get his head out of his ass and say ok) We're trying to find a place like that just in case (she's not religious either, but like you said--she needs a home)

In my state in PA the age diffrence has to be more then 4 years apart and once a minor is 16 he or she is legally able to have sex without parent consent. Its sorta wierd but since they are so close in age there should not be a problem.

In NYS if she is under 17 and he is over 18 it is statutory rape. If she is under 18 and he is over 21 it is statutory rape. So in your case she should be fine.

She is under 18. Her parents are LEGALLY responsibile for her until she turns 18. She can call a shelter or call the local Police Dept. and ask what to do when someone finds themselves homeless. I know some counties do not have homeless shelters but may provide a motel room for a short period of time until DSS can find more perminent arangements. PM me if you want my number and I can help you figure something out.

In my state I think if the guy is over 18 the girl has to be 3 years or younger than him. But I'm not sure, and I don't know if it reverses for if the girl is older.

Quote:
Under 17 years of age: New York law states that a person less than 17 years of age is legally incapable of consenting to sexual intercourse or other sexual contact. These laws are typically known as statutory rape laws.
