Man the last 7 weeks have been so busy but I have loved them. Here is my story (sorry that it is a bit late but I haven't had internet at my new flat). On Sunday the 30th of July I got woken up by my friend who asked me to go and pick her up as she had been at a party and it had gone wrong. I had a few cramps but nothing to bothersome. Anyway I went and picked her up and brought her back to my place and she stayed for a bit and then after awhile her dad came and got her as she was still hung over. During the day I was having mild contractions but they weren't hurting just annoying. Bd and his mum and sister and I went to a book fair and it was quite a lot of fun and we got some good books as well which now sit on our bookshelves which BD proudly made out of constructoin bricks and planks of wood. I had to have a bit of a sit down while at the book fair because the cramps were irritating me and standing wasn't comfortable. We went back to my in-laws and were there for awhile. While there I went for a walk with BD's younger sister who told me that she was pregnant and din't know what to do so I talked to her about her options and answered her questions as best as I could. Went home that afternoon and didn't do much. I was still having mild contractions but they were just like little period pains and so I wasn't worried. Later that night at about 7pm they started getting worse. I was lying in bed with BD who was a bit upset that there was nothing he could do to help me. He ended up ringing the maternity unit that I was supposed to be giving birth at and they said to ring back when my contractions were 5 minutes apart as they weren't regular at this time. I spent most of the night sitting on the toilet as I could feel pressure and didn't want my waters to break in the bed. I ended up having a warm bath which helped ease my sore back and I was sick a couple of times. At 11.30pm my waters broke and BD rung the maternity unit who said I could now go there. My baby (gender still unknown at this time) started crowning and there was no way I could make it into the car so BD rung an ambulance. At 11.55pm (25 minutes after my waters broke) my baby girl was born. I delivered her by myself in my own house without any pain relief. I was so glad and relieved but I felt a bit upset that BD missed the actual birth of his daughter. He was extremely shocked to walk in and see me holding a baby. He quickly rushed and got me a towel to wrap her in. When the ambulance got here they checked her out and said she was absolutely fine. She weighed just over 6 pounds and was 55cm long with dark brown hair and stunning blue eyes. We went to the maternity unit and I had problems with my placenta as the cord was on the inside and wouldn't come out. The midwives tried to manually pull it out but were unsuccessful. It was really painful. In my opinion trying to birth the placenta was worse than giving birth. In the end I had to squat on the floor and BD had to press down on my stomach and together we had to push the placenta out. Thankfully it came out and I didn't have to be transferred to the hospital. Ii spent the next couple of days in the maternity unit. I had issues with breastfeeding as baby wouldn't latch and sadly I had to opt to formula feed. But since then everything has gone fine. I have a beautiful 7 week old daughter who has the ability to attract everyone's attention. Her dad gave her the name NarcÃa (prononced nar-kay-a) but she is still without a middle name. It is amazing how after only 7 weeks of being with her I undoubtly love her and would do whatever it took to make her happy. Sure life is hard with trying to raise a baby and still get good grades at uni but hey I'm doing it just like so many other mom's on here and I can now say like most of them I wouldn't change it for anything.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks For Sharing Your Story!!!
Congrats on your baby girl! I had been wondering about you!
Wow! Thats incredible! What a beautiful name... All the luck in the world to you both.
I picture my Sophie looking like her. I have dark brown hair and BD has these bright, bright, blue, blue, blue eyes.
Thanks for sharing your story!
congratulation, your birth story is so peaceful and beautiful.
Much happiness to you both!
that is such a beautiful story congrates on the birth of your beautiful baby hope all is going well i can only hope my birthing experience will be half as good as yours was
Thanks everyone. The whole experience was nowhere as bad as I had been made to believe. It is different for everyone so if someone tells you nothing but horror stories of people they know when they gave birth don't think it will be the same for you.
Congradulations! Hope everything continues to go well!
