My husband the non-electrician!

So my hubby, I love him to death.. but he doesnt stupid stupid stuff sometimes.. he came up with the oh-so brilliant plan to make our house "network ready". yeah. so his friend who worked for this company doign that sort of stuff gave him a whole box of cables and stuff to do it with outlets and everything.. so last night he's working on it for freakin' hours and comes in the house from the garage all shakin and scared and said 'omigod.. i almost died.. im done doing this'.. he'd been wiring the house up and went to drill a hole into the garage and hit another line, completely charring the metal drill bit, he said he smelt burning and there was a huge ZAP.. nice!!! So Im sorta freaked out because he has no idea what exactly it is he hit.. im like 'great.. lets hope the house doesnt burn down!!'.. so... lesson learned, don't let hubby do stupid thigns he learned how to do over the internet in 10+ minutes :)

Urgh I can relate. My hubby seems to think he can do just about anything with the cars ;)

We have two cars, a crap 87 Mercury Tracer which runs great, and an awesome Mustang convertible which doesn't run at all. So hubby replaced a part in the mustang trying to get it to work, and it wouldn't start, so he pulled the Tracer up to boost the Mustangs battery, and it still wouldn't start, and then.. we noticed he hooked up the booster cables completely WRONG and.. the Tracers battery died (of course the booster cables come with simple instructions, but did hubby think he had to listen to them at all? nooo). Then he tried taking an 800$ car CD stereo out of the mustang to put in the tracer and he's got all the wires messed up and it won't come out and if I didn't stop him he was about to tear it out of the car from frustration. So now we have two cars, that don't work at all, and we have to get to the Children's Hospital tomorrow, which is a far far far bus ride.

Why do so many men think they can do everything? Without any instructions at all?

omigod.. Brett used to do the SAME thing with cars.. we now have a rule that is if ONE car isnt working, dont' bring another non-working one home to work on!! He actually some-what knows what he's doing as far as cars goes now since he's been in the automotive course at the college for a few quarters now.. so now it's like 'omigod! it works!! you know what your doing!'.. but normally.. he doesnt lol :)

Well I've got no husband but I know what you're talking about my step-father and grandfather think they're fix it men but really they rely on glue and duct tape! My step father built our fence and quite often our Boards will just randomly fall off! the Gate... Doesn't open properly because the final piece he put on was supposed to be 1.5inches and it's 1" at the bottom and 3" at the top!! (thats the back gate) and the Front Gate the Latch is about 1/2" higher then the actual thing where you slide it through! It's HARD to close the gate! And my grandfather thought it would be good to Glue My car Window in place!!! it's fallen off its track so it just falls right into the door if you try and roll it down! So I was like ok well I'll get a mechanic ot look at it and He's Like I'll fix it and I go out to see what he's doing and he's Got Glue in his hand!! sheesh Men shouldn't fix things unless they know what they're doing! (NOT IF THEY THINK THEY DO!)
