Lately, there has been a lot of stuff posted in here that, if you ask me, is not really relevant to or helping of the social issues we here at GM are working to understand and erradicate. Social justice is a forum dedicated to furthering womens issues, humanitarian causes, activist change, institutionalized racism, marginalizing of opressed individuals and strong but gentle un-learning of personal ideologies.
I feel that in order for GM to be a place of social uprising and democratic change, we need to try our best to keep on focus.
If you are not sure something belongs in Social Justice think about what type of discussion it will bring about. Ask yourself:
"Will this topic spur discussion about change, controversy and learning opportunities?"
"Will I be able to learn from this something about myself, others, the world, society?"
We are all here to learn, grow and educate each other so lets try to ensure we focus, stay on topic as best as possible and help each other understand.

Good post.
Good post, maybe this should be a sticky ?
When I want to discuss something serious but it doesn't seem to fit in Social Justice, I like to use My Stories as an alternative.
thank you for posting this. :D
I agree that it should be a sticky.
I know that when I first joined gm I wasn't sure what this forum was all about, so this could be helpful to new members.
This is a great guideline :)
