I know there are mamas here who have had tubals or Essure. How did you go about getting it done? What type of procedure did you have? About how much did it cost?
I went in yesterday for my annual pap/pelvic exam and I mentioned that I'm interested in a tubal or Essure procedure in the near future. The PA-C didn't even know what Essure was, then explained it and she said she didn't know much about it, other then that it's a new procedure.
She said that at 23 and with only one child, I have pretty much zero chance of getting a tubal. I told her I expected her to say that and I know finding someone to do one won't be easy which is why I want to get the ball rolling now.
She scheduled me for an appointment with one of the OB/GYN's to talk about this further. I'm really excited. I know I probably won't get far, but it's a start. I don't want to ever go through pregnancy or childbirth again and I'd rather not use hormonal birth control until I hit menopause.
