I did get Eric circ'ed. At the time I didn't have enough info about why not to, and also my family is jewish so there was a lot of pressure from my grandpa to get it done, plus bd did so I thought the whole ''look like daddy'' thing. I wish I didn't get it done, and if I ever had another boy i wouldn't do it.
I kinda don't want to persue it because then people would most likley need to look at my son's penis for one reason or another, and I don't want him to have people looking at his penis, and a big deal about what happened to it. He's happy with his penis, and I don't want to make him think that there is anything wrong with his penis or him. Plus, I'm going through a divorce still, so I have enough lawyers in my life.
Articles like this make me want to shake the author violently!
I just still cannot believe how accepted male circ'ing is in this society, when we are horrified upon hearing of female circ'ing.
Such a double standard.
While it depends on exactly what kind of female circumcision is practiced (since it can vary from anything to just a cut on the clitoral hood to complete removal of the external genitalia), the kind of female circumcision focused on in the media tends to be the more extreme kind, which has much greater health risks than male circumcision. It'd be a better analogy if when we were talking about male circumcision, we were talking about removing the entire head of the penis.

These things really aren't comparable.
But the more moderate FGM (removal of the clitoral hood, not the clitoris) is actually more common, though not reported as much. that type of FGM is exactly analogous to male circumcision.
Wow, mostlysunny. Thats fucked up.

MostlySunny, if you look in the circ thread there's a link to lawyers who handle cases like that all the time, maybe they can help you?

Opps! Didn't mean for that to post twice!
