my daughter is going through the terrible twos... 4 months too early. she has this horrible piercing sort of growl that she does when she doesn't get her own way, and when she can sense that i'm getting angry with her, she slaps herself in the face and then pauses for a reaction. when i tell her not to do it, she either does it more furiously or bashes her face on the ground repeatedly. she also hits her own wrists or legs and says "NO NO NO!" as if she's self-disciplining.
i've only ever slapped her hand once when she was trying to pull a cord out of the socket and was about to electrocute herself, i don't know where this behavior is coming from. does anyone else's kid do this? should i ignore it? i'm worried she's going to break her nose if she keeps banging her head into the floor.
