Daycare help!!

Zack is so clingy and im scared all hes going to do at daycare is cry.
Its all about mom and no one else.

I tried giving him a cup and bottle with milk to kinda train him for daycare. he refuses to take it. I put breastmilk, formula, regular milk, apple juice, water.....nothing.
he'll take juice/water in a cup thats it.
ive been going at this for a month and a half....nothing.

will the daycare be able to transision him to a bottle or cup?
will he be really stressed withn the new change?
will daycare be stressed?
can the tell me to stop going cause hes not adjusting?

im so worried.

Daycare help!!

I'm sorry that things aren't going well. Since I don't have any kids of my own, I don't have much advice to give. I do, however, remember reading on one of the boards (not sure if it was here or the old boards) that someone else had problems getting their child to take a bottle or cup. They eventually figured out that they'd take it from other people, just not mom. Mom has the real deal and they know it, so they want it. Maybe try having someone else give him a bottle/cup when you're not in the room? Just a suggestion. As for the stress, I'm sure he'll be stressed because it's a change in the routine but I'm sure he'll be fine and I'm sure the daycare has dealt with it many times before and have ways of handling it. I hope some of this helps. If nothing else, this is at least bumping the thread so maybe some other mamas with experience can give some advice.

Daycare help!!

Im not really sure what to tell ya bcus during the school year, Riley goes to a day care that is attached to a school district building that has classes and i take a couple classes over there so i get to see her during the day for a little while and have lunch with her. Shes also very young so she doesnt mind..she just sleeps lol!! Im sorry I didnt have much advice but I wanted to bump this up so some of the mamas with older kids could give their input!

It might not be that bad. Arthur was always really clingy but for some reason - he was fine when he started day care. The second I am out of sight he just accepts it and does fine with the other kids! No one was as surprised as me- lol. I found it made it a little worse for him if I lingered too long at drop off time- just a quick matter off fact goodbye worked best- but it might vary depending on the child.

your son is only 8 months old ? why cant he use bottles at daycare?
how soon is he starting? maybe you can transition him by taking him to the center and staying in the room with him so he can get to know the staff and get used to everything. then you leave just for a few minutes and come back, increasing the amount of time you leave him each time.

Zack isnt the kind of kid that likes bottles, he likes mommy only .... lol
He uses the sippy cup once in awhile...which rocks, but he only uses it for juice/water. And if I can detach my boob that would be awsome...but I cant *giggle*
He will be attending at 10.5 months. I started him 2 weeks b4 I go to work so he can get use to the staff.
The director at the daycare is very sweet and kind she has been helpful.
Im hoping all goes well.
Im just another paranoid mom that doesnt want to leave her baby

Arthur was like that too. Never took a bottle! But if he'll be 10.5 mo., he'll most likely take a sippy cup and some food while you are out of sight.
