So, we are having another baby.
DH & I are really excited to be doing this again, at a time when everything has been stable for a long time now and everyone is sober & healthy.
I'm due in September with baby #4 for me but it makes 5 altogether even though step-dd lives in another state.
I have been really sick :(
I'm wondering- should I be making myself eat even though I get sick afterwards?
I've never had morning sickness like this before.
My OB prescribed Reglan for the nausea but I still feel like crap everytime I try and eat.....

Congrats! Don't worry about forcing yourself to swollow food so much right now - you're body has reserves stored up for just this purpose! Eat what you can. Although I was at the toilet about ever other minute with my pregnancy, eating little amounts at a time helped. If you keep a little something in your belly (even just, say, some saltine crackers) it helps you not get as sick the next time you eat a little something. Good luck, mama!
Wow! Congrats, and good luck!
Yeah, I agree with Hilary. Don't force yourself to eat if you just can't bear keeping down anything. Your body will let you know its ready for a snack or something. In the meantime, if you can't keep solids down, just drink lots of water, because you'll eventually become dehydrated from not eating anything, and being sick. Even fruit juice can help settle the stomach, kool-aid...anything that doesn't have too much sugar. Crystal Light is another one, or like Ice Tea. Yup yup. 8) Maybe eat a couple of berries, or slices of fruit just to get your electrolytes back into action.
Take care.
Congratulations :) :)
Is there any foods you have found (since youve been really naseuas) to not bother your belly as much?
I know with me saltines helped alot.
Also if you cant get alot of food in try to get enough fluids. Especially water.
Congrats again! :)
congratulations! ginger ale. natural ginger ale, go to your local health care center and ask. they also make ginger tea which is really good and should help calm your stomach.
Oh yah!!! Ginger is *really* good! Even little ginger candies. Health stores and pharmacies usually have ginger candies that are supposed to help ease nausea. I dunno why, but supposedly it works. It's worked for me and I haven't thrown up once since I've gotten sick in the evenings.
CONGRATS! how far along are you? Are you hoping for a boy or a girl? or do you have no preference?
Congrats!!
Try ginger capsules/pills...I couldn't do the tea or the candies, the taste was too intense, so I used the pills!!
Congratulations are in order! I don't have any advice for the nausea as I personally didn't experience it but it seems other posters have given good advice so hopefully something works for you. Keep well.
Congradulations. Don't force yourself to eat. It doesn't work anyway. Good luck!
wow congrats! 4 babies, that is awesome.
i second the suggestion for ginger to help morning sickness.it worked a treat for me.
Wow! That is amazing. Good luck mama.
Wow! Congrats! I had really bad morning sickness and for a while the only thing that worked for me was eating limes..I know, random :? ...I think later on crackers worked for me too. I never tried the ginger things so I wouldn't know how great they work. Hope you find something that helps cuz I know how bad morning sickness sucks.
I had to eat lemons to ease my morning sickness. Citrus fruit was the only thing I could stand. Luckily, I never threw up once, thanks to the citrus! :)
oh wow congrats mama. i'm glad everyone is doing well over there...
Congratulations! I have no advice other than to not force yourself to eat anything, except maybe to swallow a saltteen or toast. I always got more sick when my stomach was empty.
congrats! we are due around the same time
