I FEEL DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BY RALPHS SUPERMARKET

I WENT TO MY LOCAL RALPHS SUPERMARKET TODAY TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTERS MILK AND CEREAL AND SUCH THAT SHE GETS FROM WIC. I DONT DRIVE, SO I CAUGHT THE BUS THERE.(IT IS ABOUT A MILE AND A HALF FROM MY HOUSE) AND I SAW THAT THE FREE SHUTTLE WAS IN SERVICE. SO CONSIDERING THAT, I WENT AND GOT ADDITIONAL ITEMS, THINKING I WAS GOING HOME BY THE SHUTTLE. SO WHEN I LEFT OUT OF THE STORE THE SHUTTLE WAS OUT THERE. AND THERE WAS A COUPLE WHO HAD ALOT OF BAGS, ANYWAYS THEY SIGNED IN, AND I DIDNT KNOW HOW IT WORKED, SO THE LADY TOLD ME TO SIGN MY ADDRESS ON THE PAPER AND SHOW HER MY RECEIPT. MIND YOU I HAVE MY 5 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER WITH ME, AND IT IS CLOSE TO 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE. THIS DRIVER KEPT TELLING ME THAT I DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH ITEMS ON MY RECIEPT OR SOMETHING, ALTHOUGH SHE SAW ALL THE ITEMS I HAD IN MY BAGS, BUT I TRULLY AND HONESTLY FEEL THAT SHE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME NOT BECUAE OF RACE, BUT BECAUSE OF ME BEING A YOUNG MOTHER. WHAT DO I DO?

I WANT THIS STORE TO STOP FROM DOING THIS TO SOMEONE ELSE. IT IS REALLY NOT RIGHT. MY DAUGHTER LEGS ARE SORE. I HAVE WELTS ON MY HANDS FROM HOLDING HEAVY BAGS, AND I LOST GROCERYS ON MY WAY HOME. ON TOP OF THAT, THE DRIVER DROVE IN THE DIRECTION OF MY HOUSE. WHAT SHOULD I DO TO ADDRESS THIS MATTER

I would call the store and speak to the manager about it. Ask how many items are required to use the free shuttle, and if you feel that you had as many as they require, let her know you had tried to catch the free shuttle home and they denied you, forcing you and your child to walk home. Let her/him know you were very upset by this because you had purchased as many grocerys as you had because you assumed you would be allowed to take the shuttle. If they have no answers for you, tell them they just lost a loyal customer and you and your family will be taking your business elsewhere.

yeah, i went back up there about an hour after the incident with my mother and spoke to a manager and the driver tried to lie on me and say that i didnt have a receiept at all! but my stepdad said to wwait and see if they are going to take any action against this employee and if they dont then look into legal matters. They did have a sign saying a minimum of $25 purchase but my purchase was $19 but that did not include the similac cans i had which are 15 dollars a piece. but it is so sad

I assume you were slinging your baby just from one of your other posts. That makes for a really heavy load.

They should really have a more leniant policy on mothers with small children. Like how wal-mart has parking up front right near the handi-cap parking for expecting woman, and woman with small children. That store should have a good family policy. Keep in touch with the store to see if they do anything. If they don't maybe writing a letter to the newspaper would be your next option or reporting them to a better buisiness beaurio.

That's TOTALLY discrimination.

They still got $15 for each of those Similac cans, the fact that it came from the state doesn't matter. THEY MADE BANK OFF OF YOU! You were JUST as entitled to that ride as anyone else. They got the money, they should shut up and let you on.

I'd ask them for a clear policy on that in the future, and threaten to talk to a newspaper if they don;t rectify this discrimination.

Do they tell food stamp users they aren't allowed to use the shuttle, as well?
