A little upset...

I'm not too sure as to where this is supposed to go but it made me soooooooo upset and I have to vent about it.

So hubby's brother and his family sent a box and it got here today, I'm not trying to be ungrateful or anything like that cuz they are nice people and they always get the cutest stuff for D. The only thing I'm having an issue with is they got him this pair of PJ's that says "I"m a boy... Sports is my life. It's a cute pair of PJ's and all I just don't like that is says that. Just cuz he's a boy doesn't mean that sports is his life or that he should even like them at all. I was debating whether I should let him wear them or not but he saw them and they have basketballs on them and he's like obsessed with balls so he wanted me to put them on and was saying "ball". I mean, if he likes sports that is fine but that doesn't mean he can't like other stuff... and he doesn't even have to like it at all. Omg, I just don't know. I mean, my husband probably will get mad if I try to get rid of them or something. I just don't know :? .

If you are uncomfortable putting him in something that says that then you don't have to do it. You can always give it to someone else that needs it that doesn't mind the slogan, you know?

How old is your son?

Honestly it's up to you. Personally I think how you raise him is more important then what he wears, and if it's something you can find useful, I don't see the point in giving it away. If you raise him that when he's old enough to understand the message he says 'well that's wrong..', well then that's all that matters.

(If they do more then give clothing like that though, and actually express sentiments like that around him or try to pressure him or you in how he should be, then I'd talk to them about it)

I would go ahead and put them on him, I mean he can't read, so if you don't read what it says to him I don't really think it'll make a difference. Also, you could make it a point to not take any pics of him while he's wearing them, so that when he outgrows them, and you get rid of them they're like totally gone. Or maybe only have him wear them while the people who got them for him are around. HTH
