then there is always our good friend abstinence - 100%
How bout natural famliy planning? where they chart the womens cycle and dont have sex on days where she is ovulating?

natural family planning has a 22% failure rate, and of course doesn't protect you against STD's. Also not to mention that it's not very effective during the first 5 or so years after you start menstruating, and you MUST have a totally regular period.

I'm surprised it's 100% for vasectomy and tubal ligation. I've known men and women that have gotten pregnant when one of the partners were supposedly "fixed".
It probably doesn't happen enough though to make that 1% failure. It could be like, 99.9234 % so they just round it to 100%
I don't think that's right though. It's 1/200 women get pregnant when one of them is sterilized. That's a lot when you think about it.

"Lactational amenorrhoea method (LAM)
For women who are fully breastfeeding, LAM is a reliable method of contraception in the first six months after birth.
For LAM to be effective, all the following conditions must exist:
the mother is fully breastfeeding; i.e. the baby is not receiving any other food supplements (solids or bottles);
the baby is less than six months old; and
periods have not returned.
If all of these conditions are met, breastfeeding provides a high level of protection from pregnancy. If not, the woman should consider herself potentially fertile and use another method of contraception."

I have read that FAM and NFP are 96% effective when used correctly, and that is vital.
I dunno thats what the site I got it from said... maybe its what they want us to think :)??? I don't think it could be much less than that (although yes I have heard of people getting pregnant even tho they had surgery so its not impossible...) Anyone have any better info???

Did you know infact there is 35 days worth of hormones in the ring, so you can if you choose to leave it in for a fourth week, then either jump "stack" to the next ring, or get your period.
kind of good, when the damn thing costs me $35 a month.
