For me, I live in CA, where it is not covered by government insurance, medi-cal.
Mine cost just about $400. More expensive than a surgical abortion. Perhaps someone else knows more info about the state you are in.

It really depend how far along you are as to whether herbal termination is an option, ususally the earlier the better, like prior to 6 weeks.
But it may be unsucessful and you might still require a surgical abortion.

Really? I had a medical abortioon about 2 years ago while on medi-cal, and I didn't pay a cent! I went through a free wonans health clinic here in town. Thats very odd, I know that they used to provide free abortions for girls w/out money or insuance, so maybe that's what they did?
Wow I guess I'm out $400, I got mine at a local Planned Parenthood, and called my local social services, and they said nopes. Mine was three years ago October. My surgical one was covered, but not my medical.

planned parenthood told me that medi-cal covered it fully. but I dont have medi-cal.
call your local PP and ask if they cover it. I'm not sure where you are, but here, it would have been easier for me had I had medi-cal vs. my moms insurance in regards to my abortion.
If you cant afford the abortion, there ARE resources that can help. No one should have to continue a pregnancy they dont want. I had an abortion about 3 weeks ago, I think. I had to fight the insurance and a few doctors, but I got coverage and had the abortion which I wanted.
Gosh, I guess something has changed, and I'm wrong for giving you the wrong info. I hope you find something that can help you in your situation...

The ones in my area run around $350 to $500, depending on how far along you are, and where it is done. I don't know about insurance coverage; my insurance with school next year covers them, but I know every coverage is different.
If you end up needing money, there are lots of programs that offer monetary assistance. There is a national one, as well as many local ones.

I found out medicaid only covers abortions in ohio in the case of rape/incest & life endagerment.
mine was 350. i got it in washington dc.
planned parenthood might be able to set up a payment plan if you can ahead of time. but i dont think they do the sliding scale for abortions the way they do for their other services.
Mine was 395 with twilight, would have been 320 without. If you're on public assitance they give you an additional 70 dollars off if you show your EBT card.
Look around, financial resources ARE there.
Are you in the US? I could be wrong about this but it seemed like they were covered by healthcare here in Canada. But maybe the website I was looking at just didn't want to say the cost for whatever reason.... :oops: Sorry I can't be more help.
Can a sympathetic doctor refer you saying you need to terminate for mental health reasons? Or is that not considered life endangerering enough?
Have you had contact with the organisations that help fund abortion?

Maja, sadly in this country life endangering only means physical reasons. If you have cancer or a heart condition or something that would kill you if you forego treatment and continue the pregnancy.
