currentlyi am taking lamictal but i have been quite suicidal and have been cutting everyday so my psych might start me on lithium im worried about the possible weight gain from it.... anyone on it? any other side effects? does it help?
It's ironic you would post this topic. I went to see my psychiatrist today, and he prescibed Lithium for me. He assured me there weren't any side effects to a nursing infant, but I know that's bull. Even the pharmacist confirmed that "a mother should not breastfeed while taking this medication." Needless to say, I'm not taking it.
I was on lithium when I was 14 or 15. I don't recall any negative side effects, but i know I was really, really thin around that time and couldn't gain weight.
