I don't know if anyone else has needed this information. BUt a few days ago Lydia sprayed windex(w/ ammonia) into her face. I quickly ran to the bathroom and spashed water on her eyes and called the Telehealth line. They connected me with Poison COntrol - who instructed me the proper way to flush her eyes with water. I thought it would be useful for me to have known this before hand, instead of panicking and scaring her by prying her eyes open etc. haha
1. Get them into the bath tub (if available)
2. run water (not ice cold, not hot)
3. take a cup and pur water on childs face (eye area) for 15 mins, repeatedly.
The child will be "surprised" by the water going into their eyes and it makes them blink the fresh water into their eyes. There is no need to pry their eyes open and dump water in - if you repeatedly pour it using fresh water each time.
my poor Lyd... :(

Ouch! and thanks mama
Thanks mama, I've had my share of eye prying because my girl likes to get into the big girl shampoo
Awesome.
Sounds like my kid! She has gotten Dial into her eyes before too. I j ust held her under the shower head face up. She didn't like it much. But i didn't think she wanted to hang out with dial in her eyes. :?
Wow thanks. That's good to know. It's sound much easier than trying to pry his eyes open. He's gotten windex in his eyes too, oh and lysol!
Whoa thats so scary!
15 minutes is a long time to repeatedly dump water in your kids eyes! I know for us every shampoo is a cry fest and he has a facecloth held over his eyes. Yikes! But yeah, obviously its better than some sort of eye injury. And its good to know what to do.
my son would have a huge fit. I hope I never have to do that. Thanks for posting, and I hope lyd is doing ok. :(
Very good information! Thanks so much for sharing. I hope Lydia is okay, that must have been so scary.
Wow Mama,
Thanks.
I had a scare with Murphy's Oil... for hardwood.
Aislynn put the cap in her mouth.
I called them, and they said it was no big deal unless she was tipping it back.
After that though, I WROTE the number down, on our wall......
It took me so long to find it in a state of panic.
I fully recommend doing that!!!!
Glad that Lydia is ok...
You are so awesome!!!!!!
hope i never have to do it but very useful info!!!
very good to know. this is so important! thanks for posting it.
