For some reason, my daughter's diapers have started leaking in the night... and I think it's because she's a 'heavy wetter.' Even though the prefold is two layers, and I have several doublers, and a wool cover... she's still got a wet bed......
Any suggestions?
I'm tired of changing her sheets.
And she likes to climb into our bed.... so I'm getting tired of changing ours too!

How old is your daughter again? I had leaking problems at one point in time with Teagan. The biggest issue ended up being the diaper covers I used. As a vegan, I've never used wool, but I've used polar fleece (which is sort of similar) and I've found that a vinyl/PUL type cover does a better job of getting us through the night.
She's 2.
I tried the Bummis wrapes, but I actually found that the wool was better.... Maybe I should try that OVER the wool...?
Maybe she's just a heavy soaker during the night and at this point it's not realistic to expect her to be 'contained' so to say, if she's wetting that much she'd probably soak through any diaper. I'd say wake up mid night and do a quick change, you can probably do it without it waking her up too much, and it'd mean not spending time the next day changing the sheets?
put a PUL cover under the wool.
also maybe it is time to lanolize your wool?
or invest in some good fitteds for night time?
OK, wha's a PUL???
What's good fitted?
Lanolizing I have covered... I LOVE to lanolize.... most of the time they are over lanolized....
Right now I have switched to a disposable at night... Huggies seem to hold it, but I wanted to check if you had any more suggestions.
Oh, and thank you for the suggestions!!!!!!!!!!! :D
PUL is Polyurethane Laminate. a lot of covers are made out of this, and it's really water proof.
I am pretty sure the bummis covers are PUL (but someone correct me if i am wrong), so you could do a toddler/premimum prefold with a doubler and then the bummis cover then the wool (sure she would have a huge butt, but it would work) really fitteds are trial and error. I have a hemp crickets i can send you. it is a one size diaper, it is pretty sad looking outside but still functions really well. My favorite fitteds right now for Blake are swaddlebees, With Alexa i really liked the sugar peas diapers.
oh and I also know a lot of mama's who use fuzzi bunz at night, but they double stuff them, and then throw the wool over that.
OMG... wow....
I have a couple of these... should I try them?

i would try it and see if it works.
pm me your address i can send out that other diaper to you.
I have hemp doublers and soakers and they work a lot better then other materials I tried
They are all hemp?
Mine are hemp and organic cotton...... maybe I need to get something different. I would actually like to get more into one size types... or smaller baby types too... so feel free to add some suggestions!
I use these waterproof pads under the kids, they're pretty soft and fuzzy, a little smaller than a sheet, and I got them in a 4 pack for about ten bucks.
I have a lunablanket... but she won't stay on it.....
That and...erm..... um..... well, my husband and I have been using it....
Sorry if that's TMI.
I have got some great suggestions though, thanks everyone....
I'll just keep trying... I hate plastic diapers.
Have you tried double diapering her with 2 prefolds instead of one? That always did the trick for my heavy wetter. Also wool longies are fantastic for night time and you can make them out of the the arms of old sweaters. I never have leaking issues when i put my kids in wool longies.
How do I make those???

Is there any way to make longies that aren't wool?
I have some made out of fleece that I received in a trade off www.diaperswappers.com I dont know offhand how to make them (my sewing skills are lacking), but I will try and google it for you.. they dont look to difficult. Also, regular fleece pants work as longies as well.. on the above mentioned board lots of mamas rave about Old Navy's fleece pants as covers becasue they are quite thick. I have one pair and they do work quite well. I bet you could find some secondhand too, and save yourself some sewing :)
Thanks Naivete.
Those things are so cute!
