ok so i searched my ex's place today (litterally top to bottom) for my xmas stuff.... and i couldnt find it... so i looked at my place just now, TORE MY WHOLE TOWNHOUSE APART... no luck... i am so upset and disappointed.... i have absolutely no decorations for my tree or house. i had alot of very special decorations too... someone broke into his house a little while ago and stole a bunch of tools, he thinks it had to do with that chick who lived with him (the one whose friend frauded me), maybe the person who broke in took it? i dont see anyone elses use for it, but i dunno.... i am really upset tho. i cannot really afford to go out and buy new ones, plus they wont have any meaning behind them...

That sucks hun!!! You can always decorate with popcorn and things. They have some inexpensive tree decorations at walmart that you could use too. Or you could find little pictures that the girls can color and then use a paper hole puncher or something to poke holes through, and then string it on string and put that around the tree. I don't really have anymore ideas at the moment, but Ill come back if I think of anymore.

I'm so sorry. that really sucks. Lexi had some good ideas. You can make like clay ornaments. I made them 3 years ago. It was a lot of fun. I think you can get the recipe online

Oh gosh mama that sucks. WHy would someone want to steal your decorations? Bit odd. I like the idea oh getting the girls to colour a picture and put a hole through it. I think I might do that with my kids. Like they make one a year and write their age on the back and see how the decorations and their drawing changes over the year.

When I was a kid we used to make snowflakes out of coffee filters. You can buy like a hundred for a dollar on the cheap ones. And you can dip them in a cup of water with a drop of food coloring, dry them out and there you go. Colored snowflakes.

aww i know how you feel, my mom moved and called me crying like seriously BALLING because she lost our xmas decorations. she always decorated with the stuff we made for crafts in school and they were very very special to her. she was totally devastated.

That stuff can be very meaningful - like keepsakes and senitmental value. I'm sorry you lost them. but HOPEfull hopefully they are just misplaced.

My mom ended up finding hers a few months after xmas in a luggage suitcase in the basement....
good luck

when I had none and could not afford any either, I bought a big bag of regular pinecones at the dollar store and spray painted them gold, silver and burgundy. They were really beautiful and super cheap!! I still use them.

I'm sorry that you can't find your decorations. I really hate when I loose something sentimental.

One thing that I did as a kid was make paper heart woven baskets. My grammy was from Denmark and it was part of her tradition. I tried looking for some good instructions and these were the best with the best picture anyway. They call them valentines hearts on this page tho... http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tappi.org/paperu/news/images/paper_valentine.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.tappi.org/paperu/news/current_issue.htm&h=938&w=261&sz=19&hl=en&start=7&um=1&tbnid=juwkn8_V0zG3lM:&tbnh=148&tbnw=41&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpaper%2Bheart%2Bwoven%2Bbasket%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DN

When I was a kid we used to help my mom make decorations. Maybe your kids would like to help you with little things, then it would be very special to them and you (even if they're not REALLY helping, just thinking they are). Making snowflakes are always fun and so are homeade ornaments. I can't think of anything else right now, but I know if you look around online you can find some crafty ideas.
