I remember a thread like this on the old boards, and wanted to see how many of us are breastfeeding and how old our kids are. If you aren't nursing now, how old was your babe when he/she weaned?

Chloe's 9 mos old and isn't showing any signs of stopping. I'm planning to let her self wean, but may encourage it when I feel the need to get my body back :D

Emily is 7 months now. Were going strong! She now has 4 teeth, the second 2 JUST came in, so i'm a little worried..heh. She doesn't bite often though, so that's nice!! I plan to go for quite some time, depending on when she'd like to nurse until. When I go back to school, i'll be b/f at night and when I am off. She'll be more then old enough to not need constant b/f anyway, so i won;t have to pump, she can just eat big kid food..heh

Austin is almost 7 months and i work full time so i am the pumpmaster! I pump enough milk during the day at work to feed him the next day and when im at home with him i nurse, It works for us. The cool thing is at my work they let me use the Judge's Chambers to pump.

Kay was 6 months when she weaned. Only 4 weeks old when i stopped exclusively breastfeeding her thanks to a shitty health visitor who told me i wasn't making enough milk. I now know it was a growth spurt and she should have known that.
Carly was 21 months old when she self weaned.

Kayden's still breastfeeding at almost 7 months, and I plan on continuing for quite awhile - at LEAST a year, but im thinking about letting her self ween. I'll have to see how it goes..but, Breastfeeding is AWESOME.

Damien nursed until 4yrs when I day weaned him. The last time he asked to nurse before bed was in march, at 4yrs 4 months. Now he just asks for snuggles to go to sleep.

Alyssa is still going strong at 2.5yrs and I don't see her stopping any sooner than her brother did. If she is still nursing during the day at 4 I'll probably day wean her as well. Though it might be easier when she hits 4 since it will only be one kid nursing instead of two.

Jess is going on 3 now and she is still bf. I am trying to wean her but it isnt going that well. It is getting to the point now where it is VERY annoying to me though.

Cheyanne just turned 1 in the beginning of May and we are still going strong dispite the comments about how old she is. I plan to keep nursing until she is 18 months or 2 years old.

Ugh, I'm so jealous of all of you. I had a c-section and I couldnt hold her it hurt so much. I passed out afterward and they fed her bottles without asking meor even waking me up. Everything in the hospital was such a disaster and I never breastfed.
I used to go through a phase where I would almost cry whenever I saw a woman nursing. I have such guilt. Congratulations to all of you for going so long. wow..

Ahhhhh...mae try not to feel guilty. I didn't nurse Maddox until he was 3 days old (he couldn't latch on) and I had to use a nipple shield for 4 months. It was a miracle that I was able to nurse him. I had a c-section too and it SUCKED. One time I nursed him and they took him to the nursery to put him under the bili lights and gave him a bottle after he had just finished nursing because "my milk couldn't satisfy him." I threw a fit and told them they were NOT to give my son formula for any reason. I made every nurse that came to do anything with him repeat to me that he was not to be supplemented. If I had not had my LLL support I would NOT have been able to breastfeed him.

To answer the question... my little nursling is 6 months old :)

sometimes i have moments of "OMG I LET A KID SUCK ON MY TIT FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS!?" kind of shock, not that it's disgusting but that it just seems like such a long time to have been nourishing someone else with my body, and other times i forget i'm no longer a nursing mother. like the other night i was musing outloud to alli that even if i did get WIC again, i wouldn't drink the juice or eat the cheese or tuna. she was like "uhh, i don't think you qualify for the tuna anymore" and it was like "oh yeah...i don't nurse anymore."

I heart all you nursing mamas. It's something I'll always reflect on fondly. (I heart all you non-nursing mamas too though. :) )

i nursed the gruesome twosome for 6 months, then pumped until they were 8+ months. i had planned on nursing longer, but things didn't work out that way. by the time i stopped pumping, i had such a horrible case of thrush that the milk was pink from blood.

i have started leaking though, and even though i miscarried this pregnancy, i am thinking about starting to pump again, so my babes can have more mama milk. i have to really examine my health and priorities before i decide for sure, though.

Paige is 11 months (today actually...hehe), and I don't see us stopping any time soon. I plan to breastfeed until she's 2 or 3, but i might go longer. It all depends on what we decide. Ya for extended breastfeeding!

Sadie is 2 years and 9 months and still going strong. She loves the boob. Bella weaned at 3 1/2. She is 5 now and cannot believe that she nursed until 3 1/2. She thinks that it is so funny. I am kind of shocked by those stats in the poll. There are more of us (who took the poll) nursing 2year olds that anything.

Nurslings are 13 months old AND 3 years,2 months old currently.

I think my 3 year old is weaning for the most part, she nurses very sporadically now- but still nurses.

mine is 2 years and 1 month, we're in the process of weaning though because i'm pregnant. i've considered tandem nursing and may still try it but don't really want to. it seems to draining to me, and i don't want even more added competition between the new baby and my toddler.

I nursed Matt right up to 24 months. The last time we nursed, it was June 18, his birthday was the 22. He weaned himself, and that makes me happy.

I nursed my boy till he was 4yrs and about 10 months old. And a few of my friends breastfeed their kids till about that age, most people I know breastfeed till around 18 months to 3 1/2 yrs.

It's funny when most people find out I breastfed for that long they think that I was feeding ds as often as you feed a baby, but really it was more like weaning was done over a long period of time. In fact as he got older we negotiated which feeds to cut out. From when he was 3 til he was weaned, he was pretty much only feeding before going to bed, unless he was ill.

Lucas weaned himself, at just under 2. I also have those moments of "Oh dear god, how did we do it so long ?!" But I know hat if he still wanted to, we'd be doing it today, and he's almost 4. can I say how cool it is that the largest percentage of women on these boards tallied up in the 2+ column? I hit that one, because Lucas was literally, less than 2 weeks away from 2.

I would have nursed Reily longer, but at 14 months, he decided he no longer wanted to nurse, so I had to quit cold turkey. He wasn't bothered in the least, but I was sooo upset because I had planned to nurse until he was at least 18 months old, and longer if possible. I vividly remember the night when he just would not nurse, and I thought he was sick, but that was the end, he never would go back to it. It was really sad, but I'm thankful I did it as long as I did. I used to express milk using a hand pump while I attended school full time, and it was tough but definitely worth it!
