Hello,
My name is Amber and i am 16 and a newbie. I just wanted to write here and see if there was anything people could tell me for advice because ia m due August 8th and terrified about the labour! So please lemme know how u did!
MY friend had a baby a year ago and named him tyson cole, I think that's really cute. Well I can't tell you anything about labour or anything since I'm in my 1st pregnancy. I'm 18 and due oct. 17
I had a bit of a rough labor, but I think that it's because I hadn't educated myself as to what was going to happen.
Are there any classes around you that you could take? Many times doctors or hospitals offer them, and if they are too expencive they will sometimes wave the fee if you ask them to.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me!
Labor is different for everyone.. so how everyone handles it will be different. I'd just say to research all your options, talk to your OB or Midwife (whichever you're using - just know that sometimes their opinions on certain things will be varied), and you're already covering one thing - finding out the experiences of others.
For me, I wanted to go natural, but I knew to be open to the fact that complications occur. The truth is, that yes, labor *is* painful. Very much so. But it's really mind over matter. Just know that the length of time you're in labor is so small compared to the amount of time you'll be spending with that bundle of joy. That said, I *did* get one shot of Nubain, but managed to avoid the epidural.
You have to do what's right for you. If you're a nervous wreck going into labor, it's going to be hard to calm down and that can slow down your progress. Find things that keep you calm while you're pregnant so you can try and use them in labor. If what calms you down happens to be an epidural - then so be it - no one wants birth to be a horrible experience!
I love the name Tyson, but I don't think it sounds so good with timothy  Also, I had a question, sorry steal the thread...do you girls really reccomend going to a class to find out about labor and delivery and all of that? I mean, I was set on not going, but if there is something that I'm going to miss and be totally shocked about when the time comes to get that baby out...then I want to know..
I like the name Tyson and the name Timothy, but I don't really like them together. I reccomend learning as much about labor/delivery/postpatum body and newborns as possible. Like someone else said, the more calm you are going into labor, the easier it will seem. Just remember that it is something that you have to go through, and you will get through it. AS for the classes, I never went to any, but I read as much as possible and talked to as many moms as I could and I think I was educated enough. I knew what was happening to my body and I was okay with it. My labor was really long (46 hrs!) and I think I did fine, because I knew that it would end eventually. Good luck and if you have any (other) questions, just ask and someone and one of us will be glad to share our opinions/experiences!!
Hay Amber, I had my baby last year in October when I was 16, and I had the best labour and birth I could have asked for. Mine was 3 1/2 hours long, I didn't need drugs only gas, and I didn't need any stiches. So that was great. I think it all depends on your tolerance to pain really. And thats tru how different people experience different pain. Don't be scared, because there are plenty of woman that have been through labour and survived to tell their story, so u'll be fine!! :)
no offence those names are horrible together tho tyson is a cool name , but each to there own D , im scared about labour too but hey .... i suggest a/natal classes if you have no idea , and all peps are different
